If you dislike these people, stop letting them live rent-free in your head. He got elected the first time because left-leaning media wouldn't stop attacking him, which just made conservatives love him more. Do you not see that the exact same thing is happening again? You know he's going to win, right? He's going to win, and it will be for the same stupid reasons.

PeachMan , to No Stupid Questions in If an oven only has fan forced mode do i still need to set it to the fan forced temperature in recipes? Ie 160 instead of 180.
@PeachMan@lemmy.world avatar

That's annoying. If you can't turn the fan off, then I think you need to look for convection oven recipes specifically. But I think they're not too hard to find.

I'm not expert, but I can tell you that Apple Silicon gave the new Macbooks insane battery life, and they run a lot cooler with less overheating. Intel really fucked up the processors in the 2015-2019 Macbooks, especially the higher-spec i7 and i9 variants. Those things overheat constantly. All Intel did was take existing architectures and raise the clock speeds. Apple really exposed Intel's laziness by releasing processors that were just as performant in quick tasks, they REALLY kicked Intel's ass in sustained workloads, not because they were faster on paper, but simply because they didn't have to thermal throttle after 2 minutes of work. Hell, the Macbook Air doesn't even have any active cooling!

I'm not saying these Snapdragon chips will do exactly the same thing for Windows PC's, obviously we can't say that for sure yet. But if they do, it will be fucking awesome for end users.

IT here: you're all insane. Outlook is a dumpster fire, Outlook for Mac is a slightly prettier dumpster fire. The idea of locally syncing emails in 2024 is laughable, a web browser is exactly where you should view your emails.

Reddit is still pretty useful, but it will become less and less relevant as contributors leave, just like StackOverflow did. Side note: are contributors actually leaving Reddit? People keep saying that's happening, but I don't really see it...maybe it's very slow? Might depend heavily on the subreddit too.

Looking for recommendations for a racecar, at least 800 horsepower. Needs to hit 60 mph in under 4 seconds.

My budget is $2000. Please give recommendations.

No, I just don't have the time to explain the hundred obvious ways that a fast processor might benefit somebody, so I chose a single, INCREDIBLY obvious item near the top of the list for most people, and was hoping that I wouldn't get follow-up idiotic responses like this. But alas!

To be fair, I don't think the Fairphone will help much with outdated processors. You can't upgrade the processor inside, and it comes with a relatively slow processor from day one.

This phone is not for people that need performance; it's a very basic phone for people that value an ethical supply chain and repairability.
