The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada marched from Dundurn Castle to Battlefield House retracing the original route of the British to join us for the opening ceremonies on the Saturday.
1806 the 27th Regiment were in Maida in Southern Italy.
Supposedly they were bathing in the sea when the French attacked. They responded going into a battle wearing only their belts and carrying their muskets earning the nickname the “Skins”.
