That is such a weird "headline feature" to be adaptable to different riders. I've never known someone who would regularly share or swap bikes with someone where this is needed. I need my bike to fit me. I buy adoringly and set it up once. I then never touch saddle height, handlebar position and whatever else is adjustable ever again.
If it brings production costs down for having less variants or sizes, sure. But who needs this as a feature so desperately that it's one of 3 l features even mentioned in this post (except for it being a trike in the first place, I guess).
Not even all that unusual a feature for trikes, but I get the appeal: It's for lending it out and making it more compact for storage or transport. Being adjustable also ensures a good fit.
Ever ridden a trike as an adult? Like not a toddler's big wheel but a full size three wheeler? They're terrifying because the steering doesn't work like a bicycle. You can't go faster than a moderate wander. A walker with 4 tennis balls is a more practical transportation system.
I know enough about physics to know that the the single wheel should be at the back or the back wheels need to be offset (think motorcycle with sidecar) if you plan to take it on anything rough otherwise you end up with your product being banned from sale (Honda three wheeler anyone?)
Probably continuous vs peak power. I've seen brands advertise this very unethically - Lectric has done this. "Ours is 1400W, the competition is only 750W!"
Or advertising the peak in-rush current or whatever instead of the continuous allowable power? A 750W motor probably pulls 1400 watts for a split second as it starts up under load.
I use a Nokia XR21 that I acquird for peanuts andnattaxhnwith a Quadlock. I use Kommot for mapping on it. It can do mapping, phone calls, music, photos and on and on etc
Hopefully, it's a big rebate. Getting $400 off a $3,000 ebike wouldn't be great. $900 off a cargo bike worries me.
Ideally, I'd like to see bikes that are in the $1,800 range online be reduced to like...$200 for low income families. Help people get off cars for most city trips.
