... reading this I assume Jerry was the universally loved character I was suppressed to root for? At best I thought it was just a fun stalemate between two fairly diffident characters cohabiting the same area.
But I've basically always liked Tom more, even as a smol kid not actually knowing their names (which is which). But then again, there is quite a bit of lore & episodes differ a lot (different series even more so).
And as a grownup I def think Jerry was just a sadistic dick in most cases, whereas Tom showed compassion more often.
