Autistic folk often have a lot of other stuff they are dealing with. You can think of it as “Autism and…” because that is the reality for most of us.

Here is a list of “some” of the more common ones.

@autism101 @actuallyautistic How Immune Disorders works with autism, autism effects the neurons not the immune system, what I am missing, can you explain to me?

@GarryTheThird @autism101 @actuallyautistic Autistics deal with it, there's no causality established to-from the other...
I for one, have to deal with multiple in the graph, including autoimmune. Until someone smarter explains why... it just is.

There are studies showing a possible link between autoimmune diseases and trauma, and unfortunately autistic persons are more likely to experience trauma. But that's just a theory, there may of course also be unknown genetic connections.

There are strong correlations between being autistic and having an auto immune disease

You can read about it here

@autism101 @actuallyautistic lol so much to say about that. I think i developed Gourette recently, but it has nothing to do with autism and everything to do with mobbing, rumoring, madness management dispositives, un brief modern social life

These new terms are triggering my nosophobia:

    > Having an illness anxiety disorder causes you to hyperfocus on an uncomfortable or unusual feeling in your body.
