@kkffoo@actuallyautistic@callunavulgaris well this, and even more so the comments, just explained my entire life experience. I’m gonna have to sit with this for a minute.
@joshourisman@kkffoo@actuallyautistic If I ever doubt that I'm properly autistic this video sums up my experiences. Information first, that's the nub of it.
@callunavulgaris@kkffoo@actuallyautistic it really explains a lot. Including why descriptions/accounts of autism from a non-autistic perspective rarely seem to make any sense or connect to anything in the real world
@callunavulgaris@joshourisman@kkffoo@actuallyautistic
nothing personal or anything, but that reality is the majority's third priority means we're all completely buggered.
.
That anyone has to apologize to them for anything is just so totally wrong.
@punishmenthurts@callunavulgaris@kkffoo@actuallyautistic right? It does make you wonder about the intersection of politics and autism, though. And also how culturally dependent this all is. The 1952 presidential election basically marked the rise of modern, feelings-based politics with Eisenhower’s ‘We Like Ike’ campaign, contrasting with a dry, fact-based campaign from Adlai Stevenson. Was society actually more autism-friendly before that? Does this relate to German disdain for small talk?
