I should've used my alt account for this

I'm not saying cbt itself is evolution, I saying the kink for it evolved. So eg. some random freaks are into cbt - they end up with tougher balls and are less likely to lose their ability to have children due to some accident - they have a few more children on average and so on... until its a regular kink to protect men's balls.

Dude the pandemic was amazing for devs, tech companies hiring like mad, really easy to get your foot in the door. Now, between all the layoffs and AI it is hellish

I got a withings for this, though after 2 years it stopped charging, been an expensive paperweight since. It should be fine for you if you treat it like it looks - I tend to be rough with my watches.

Been watchless since, had my eye on fossil but :(

Google Search is getting even worse for independent sites ( www.theverge.com )

In February, HouseFresh managing editor Gisele Navarro called out publishers like BuzzFeed and Rolling Stone as some of the culprits that publish content about air purifiers despite a lack of expertise — but Google rewards these sites with high rankings all the same. The result is a search results page filled with SEO-first...

Verge is generally a good site, but this article adds nothing

Man google is really falling to the mbas lately

Doesn't the need for a permit fundamentally contradict the US's ideals of free speech?

I went to some palestine protests a while back, and was talking to my brother about the organizing, when revealed something I found pretty shocking, we (the protesters) had acquired a permit to hold the protest. Apparently this is standard policy across the US....

Internally, it's still hell of a lot better than most countries

morrowind OP ,
@morrowind@lemmy.ml avatar

You can inform the city without requiring approval.

they have to send even more police there for your safety.

I don't know which country you live in but I can't recall a single protest in the US where the police have protected the protestors from others

All universities, schools, and other places of knowledge whether public or private should be exempt from trespassing laws for the protestors

Problem is, there's a vocal minority convinced education is bad. Can you imagine the havoc if they could shut down any university without consequence?

What you're describing sounds like a classic case of the tyranny of the majority

They spend multiple weeks on him in Intro to psychology classes. Even though they tell you at the end it's a bunch of rot (if you haven't figured it out yourself), if that's like 1/5 of your psychological knowledge, you're gonna use it

Really basic plans still charge you. When I was in school, my parents gave me a dumb phone with a plan that cost 10 cents per minute of calling or 10 cents per sms. MMS didn't even work. Ridiculously expensive, but at the amount I was using still cheaper than anything else

morrowind ,
@morrowind@lemmy.ml avatar

That's 5x what I paid.

You can still access the old new reddit by going to new.reddit.com, ironically enough, or old reddit through old.reddit.com

Attitude is the main reason I started looking for reddit alternatives over four years ago, not ui or privacy or moderation or the api stuff (which came a lot later). I have a lot of theories for why it happened (that aren't just the capitalism and astrotufing circlejerk) but they're hard to back with substantial evidence

I've unironically used this as an argument against people who insist on constant updates. If you need constant updates to keep you interested in the game, are you even interested in the game?

Also after years of constant updates to please these people, games tend to get bogged down in all their stupid little systems and lose sight of their core gameplay which made them fun in the first place. Context is clash royale, in which I still like the core gameplay, but every time I open up the game I'm bomarded by two dozen different quests, chests, events, news, pseudo-currencies - there's like multiple types of ranked ladders, 10 different game modes and that's not even including all the clan events I would have if I was part of a clan

The moment I got interested in Esperanto, I wanted better so I jumped down a rabbit hole of ever more obscure languages until I realized what I had gotten into and stopped.

Also, and this probably applied to others, if I'm language learning, there's two other languages I really 'should* be learning, but am not, so that makes me feel guilty.

Do they have offline support on desktop? I would expect it to be a key functionality of any read it later app, and yet can't find any that that does.

morrowind ,
@morrowind@lemmy.ml avatar

Thanks, but I was asking specifically for desktop. Most apps do have offline support for mobile, but never desktop for some reason
