The DDay landing was the greatest war event for the Americans, British and Canadians but compared to what happened on the Eastern front, the Russians basically bled themselves and the Germans dry by the time the Allies started fighting again.

I have family that were part of the landings and war veterans that took part in the fighting later on and a couple that are buried in Belgium.

DDay is an amazing story but it shouldn't be overshadowed by what the Russians and Eastern Europeans endured in the east for almost three years.

The reason I mention this is that to the Russians DDay is not as important a WW2 event to them as it is to us. Putin and Russia won't be as disrespected as we would like to imagine because they have way more WW2 commemorative events that saw many more people die than they did on DDay.

The other side of that debate is that .... the outside influence could work with Africa to make the continent self sufficient and capable on its own. Several studies and research has shown that if properly set up and organized, the African continent has more than enough resources to produce its own food supply, clean water supply and energy production.

Unfortunately, instead of the outside world helping Africa to get to this point .... the world instead uses Africa as just another place to exploit and make money out of. In the short sighted vision of the first world ... it's more lucrative to make a bunch of money now by taking advantage of poor dying people than it is to help them become productive members of the global economy.

It's a prime example of how as a civilization we build and maintain our world on exploitation, coercion and death

I was fine with memes over the past few years ... sure they are a quick dopamine hit that make you laugh or think

But now when my friends send me tiktok videos ... especially when someone has been watching these video streams for hours or days ... they start sending out the most random, inane, mindless content ... it's the kind of material that keep a monkey occupied.

I'm getting to the point where I just want to read ... once I get onto a site, I skip the ads and just read (most of the time I get limited ads because I have ad blocker) ... but if the ads, images, display is making it hard to read, I turn on read mode and get rid of all the clutter ... if the site was purposefully designed to not allow me to use read mode ... turn off the tab and move along to the next link.

If the site has somehow bypassed ad block and now shows ads, floating images, floating videos, banners or other elements ... if I can't get to the content I came to see, I turn off the tab and move on to the next site. I'm no wasting my time on these dumb sites.
