In the migration to lemmy, this community's admins have the chance to drop its startlingly racist name. Wasn't funny back then, and it's still not funny....
That doesn't remove the connotation for larger audiences. A layman will never know those details and will read master race as being about race. The social context and history are irrelevant, it's genuinely a dumb hill to die on.
y'all getting politically defensive when someone calls out or expresses any concern about racism is a tell dude. It's just revealing how enabled & triggered y'all are by this.
