I live in the US, and this is what I see from Biden's spokespeople, every day...
Reporter: [Insert war crime claims against Israel].
White House Spokesperson: We have heard of that. It's very tragic. But Israel is investigating itself and we don't want to get out in front of that. We want to wait till we have all the facts before taking action or issuing any statements.
The day after the ICJ said the claims of Israel's genocide had merit, the White House (Biden) withdrew funding based on Israel's claim UNRWA was infiltrated by Hamas.
Reporter: Do you have evidence for these claims?
White House Spokesperson: No, we do not. We are waiting to see that from Israel.
So, when it comes to selling arms to someone accused of war crimes, they need to keep selling them arms, even if the crimes are on video all over TikTok.
When it comes to starving the people of Gaza to death, they don't need any evidence at all to act.
I hear you. I don't know who will win in 2024, but it seems the DNC is trying to make it as close as possible. Part of me believes enough people will break Biden's way out of fear of Trump. But, I am totally prepared to wake up to a Trump presidency, the same as in 2016. If that happens, I'll be wondering why the DNC decided to take that risk. Biden said he was going to do one term as a transition. I don't know why he's running again. But he's polling like crap.
When this happened in the wake of Vietnam, Johnson decided not to pursue another term, and to allow someone else to run. I don't know why the DNC won't do it, other than money--which I guess is plenty of reason when it comes to politics.
I honestly thought "surely with a g-cide happening, they can't blame people for not voting Biden?" But they are. If they're really concerned, they need to change their candidate. If they don't, and they lose, they'll have only themselves to blame.
The "one term" thing came from Biden's camp. Google it. He may not have said the words, but the folks around him spun the narrative, and that was no accident.
Since you are replying based on something I said, then I assume you are talking to me when you say "people like you refusing to vote for him"... Please provide the quote where I said who I am/am not voting for. It's interesting that you start by saying "he never said that"--and end by putting words in someone else's mouth.
Biden is running for president. He'll pull the votes or he won't. But if he's running, pulling those votes is his job, and his campaign's job. They'd win or they'll lose. I am not betting on either of those outcomes. I truly don't know what will happen--but he will sink himself or swim. And that's up to him.
@hfinyow@Sherifazuhur@israel@palestine I remember hearing an analyst say this. I remember it, because I thought it was a very interesting take on the election. We are in a plutocracy, and oligarchs are watching. It seems they have found a way to get US citizens to vote genocide, and their solution was pretty interesting--support one side that is blood thirsty to vote for Trump, support the other side who wants to see themselves as anti-genocide, and get them to actually vote for a candidate doing a genocide, by telling them it's still better than the genocide Trump would do.
If I gain from a genocide and from cementing power of the Global North, then this is a chef's kiss of a political solution. Evil AF, but diabolically brilliant.
Since you find hating people doing genocide irrational, your judgement is impaired. And your attempts at insult fall flat, because you are no judge of decent behavior.
Yes, I saw when Varoufakis was banned! I just posted as well, police in Canada, attacking protestors. These states know they are not legitimate, and only rule by force. This is why they are so dangerous.
