If you use Graphene OS, what web browser do you use?
Honestly the lack of ad blockers in Vanadium pushes me towards Firefox even though the devs say that Firefox is far less secure. So many web sites are just hard to use on mobile without an ad blocker so I'm curious what the rest of you are doing.
I has come to my attention that some users have never heard of F-droid. F-droid is a free software app store for android ( f-droid.org )

Why is CalyxOS consider more private than Graphine, but Graphine is more secure?
I read a post here a while back claiming that graphine is less private but somehow more secure. Of course the only person I have to ask is the graphine Matrix who claims are the opposite of this. Generally my main concern about Calyx is it's Fake google play thing. Apparently this is less private than graphineOS's sandboxed...
Sign our petition to stop France from forcing browsers like Mozilla's Firefox to censor websites ( foundation.mozilla.org )
The French government is considering a law that would require web browsers – like Mozilla's Firefox – to block websites chosen by the government.

Do you guys even know of Adblock Plus? ( lemdro.id )
I literally haven't seen anyone even mention it anywhere on the internet as if it never existed, when it comes to Ad blockers I always see uBO recommended with absolutely no mention whatsoever of ABP why? What makes it better than ABP? What happened to it? or maybe I'm wrong and ABP is not as well known as I think it is....

Twitter/X anonymous login and no Government censorship
Today I realized that is possible login on twitter with a temp mail through VPN in a complete anonymous way. I think it's a very good thing. I don't understand why here a lot of people criticize Elon Musk. I think that now it's a platform more open to debates, it's almost free speech. No other popular big tech platform allow...
Android vs. iOS
I have been an Android user for 13 years now. After using almost every Google service possible I am going down the privacy rabbit hole lately. Gmail -> Proton Mail, Chrome -> Firefox, Keep -> Notesnook, Google Search -> Kagi, ......

Google engineers want to introduce DRMs for web pages, making ad-blocking near-impossible in the browser ( github.com )
And since you won't be able to modify web pages, it will also mean the end of customization, either for looks (ie. DarkReader, Stylus), conveniance (ie. Tampermonkey) or accessibility....

Please report bad behaviours in accordance with Lemmy rules and Code Of Conduct! Here to cushion the impact of Reddit exodus :D
Lemmy is not going to be Reddit. It will not inherit the reactionary behaviours. Ensure civillity and disengage if uncomfortable. Have a good time!
PSA: whether you use signal, element/matrix, xmpp, briar, etc, you're doing good!
I see a lot of down votes and conflict in privacy communities about which one is the best, but tbh, if you're not using fb/sms/email you're pretty much the top 1% of privacy users. So as far as we should be concerned, that's good enough....
Alternative Front-Ends for Facebook?
Many businesses, non-profits, and local government offices where I live use Facebook as their primary, or exclusive, online presence. I don't want to make a Facebook account, but I would like to be able to see some of the content that is posted there; are there any alternative front-ends that won't abuse me with trackers? So far...
