"... the Jewish Council of Australia calls on the Government to immediately cut all military ties and place sanctions on Israel.

The Albanese Government must also place travel bans on extremist settlers and those suspected of war crimes. These actions would be in line with Australia’s obligations as a signatory to the Genocide Convention."

"Dr Max Kaiser, Executive Officer, Jewish Council of Australia

With each passing day, it becomes clearer that Israel is a rogue state. We say this as part of a large and growing number of Jews – in Australia and around the world – who have been calling for a ceasefire for many months, and saying that Israel’s actions are completely incompatible with our Jewish values."

Good to see some common sense ...

Sadly and badly I can't see any of that happening simply because the Government has a louder Jewish voice whingeing in their ear ...

In Australia, we don't really know what our Jewish community thinks @MyView
All recent polling has been conducted by highly biased bodies and on small, decidedly skewed samples. There has been only one study conducted since October 7. Results were due in December, but none have been published.

There are indeed many Australian Jewish "communities" @InternetDev
Our problem is that few are being heard.

Probably a case of too long didn't read ... but here goes :)

"In Australia, we don't really know what our Jewish community thinks"

In Australia the Murdoch, Stokes and Costello MSM ... aka the Media Streaming Misinformation ... decide who will hear what ... and 'our' national broadcaster repeats what they say/write as news.

And because all four companies are influenced by the political views of their 'leaders' the churnalists say and write the most horrendous stuff ...
To them it's all about power over their Sub$criber$ gullible minds. Nasty spiteful lot.

Sadly only the lobbyists with the longest reach and the loudest voice have the most frequent access to politicians and their mouthpiece media ...
Badly, all politicians are scared witless of being labelled 'Anti-Semitic' ... and while most Israelis are Semitic (so are Arabs), the other religions there are also Anti-Muslim/Islamophobic ...

Fact is ... the Religionists living in Israel are there waiting for the fulfillment of the 'prophecy' about the 'second coming' on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem (which they want all to themselves) ... when Israel is 'regathered' as in all Arabs have been killed or driven out of 'their' land.

For millions it is the hope/prayer they will be one of the 144,000 to go to heaven ... or at the very least, one of 'the meek' who will inherit the earth and have dominion over all ...

"All recent polling has been conducted by highly biased bodies and on small, decidedly skewed samples"

That applies to all polling ...
I have been doing online surveys and polls for years and can tell you the way questions are worded can influence the answer.
And answers often contradict each other and/or ask the same question worded differently.

Some ask for an opinion then give a scenario and asked if that 'knowledge' alters the opinion ... which more often than not would as the scenario is usually an ounce of truth with a pound of lies.

And while the pollsters may have 100,000 people on their books ... like the Guardian's Essential ... the replies usually consists of less than 2000 people. For MSM the replies are often only a few hundred ... and that is not a fair representation.

And while all polls/surveys claim there are no right or wrong answers, there are ... and one soon finds out on political surveys when it is terminated at the beginning because of 'wrong' demographic ie age, gender, location ... or about half way through when it gets to the 'who did you vote for at the last election' part ...

I won't bore you with the telephone polls :)
