company couldn't refuse to sell those 6 pack rings (unnecessary junk plastic imo), so they doped it with technically edible production waste to show off fancy pictures of marine life that generate buzz on social media.

It's like greenwashing but it also disposes even bio waste into the ocean. Bc marine life is surely evolved to consume waste of brewery and we're just feeding them!

A lot of the typical cardboard boxes used in food services are treated with things to make them not totally get destroyed on contact with water and aren’t safe for marine or aquatic life.

They’re also filled with heavy amounts of clay and other stuff ti get that nice colorful box.

Sure maybe the exaggerated, but the article doesn’t read like satire.

The holders are made out of a pulp from byproducts of the brewing process, such as wheat and barley. Not only does this make them totally biodegradable, but they’re also just as strong as their plastic counterparts.

I guess anything that is plants and pulp is cardboard?
