Hello everyone! Thank you for all the positive comments last week....
I scanned the wrench on a regular document scanner and used the siluette to get the optimum hook shape. It worked incredibly well and it sits perfectly. Thats important because I don't want the tools to raddle every time someone slams the door or I open a window.
I appreciate a creative use of scrap lumber as much as the next person, but jeez. I'm getting tired of floating sistered joists and framing.
I'm almost wrapped up with filling voids, bark inclusions, and knot holes in the boards for the bookcase. If our garage was climate controlled I expect this process would have gone faster; the same could be said if I had more horizontal working space for staging and filling. Once everything is done curing I should be able to go...
We had an ugly metal clad solid wood exterior door that leads from a basement family room into our below grade garage. I had redone the floor and trim in the family room and was looking for a way to fancy up the door without having to spend a fortune....
Today i'm actually proud of myself. I'm good with wood, textiles, gardening, trees etc. But metal, machines, electronics don't come natural to me at all. I learned to take care of bicycles or chainsaws because I had to but those scary household machines never. Until today. The machine stopped midway, full of water and clothes....
I've been wanting to get a proper microscope so I can do my own spore examinations to identify local fungi but it's been out of budget. This looks like a much more affordable option so now off to find some plexiglass and laser pointers at the dump.
