Autism

The regular bus wasn't full, so they didn't randomly pick me and 3 other kids to be in the overflow bus. It was the literal short bus. I rode the short bus to school with the other autistic kids. How the hell did I get to 40 without realizing I was autistic? 😆

even for normal people they're not really designed with human joy in mind....but GOD it's miserable trying to start a real thing just from cold texting...

If someone thinks that autists have trouble communicating, they just need to see us talk to each other!...

A thing only exists if I know it exists. I experience good days and bad days but I do the best I can to keep moving forward despite this flaw. I don't have any wisdom to share but I hope y'all have a nice day 😊

I can actually vibe quite bigly and be very animated/engaged, but at the end of the day, I am an introvert, and a certain amount of mental recharge time is absolutely 100% required or my mind will stop working right....

I'm really needing new headphones to drown out the noise when I'm out on Public transit or just at home during panic attacks....

I'm looking for online programs that help us navigate the world as autistic people. It could be anything, such as learning about autism, neurotypicals, social settings, identifying your emotions, self-care for autistic people, common terms related to autism, autistic love languages, etc...anything that helps autistic people...

I think it would be interesting to share lessons we've learned about socializing that didn't come natural to us like they do for NTs....

I saw a (what now I understand to be a single stage) steam engine at a museum a few months ago. I must understand how this works. Anyone have any good links to information from "concept" to "operation" for steam engines?...

I am finding, that i get easily manipulated, aspecially when it comes to other people's enjoyment. I usually know, when it's happening and still go along with it. This is supposed to be a lightharted post (not asking for help or empathy, I just hope to know more).

Trying to get an idea of how NTs see us. I know that when I see autistic people, I see someone that's like me. Obviously, that's not how NTs perceive us, so what do we look like to yall??

I feel like it's a bit of a long shot. I could see how certain things like being depressed could contribute to being withdrawn and lead to a lack of social skills....
