I've been keeping an eye on the 7800X3D lately and spotted this deal instead, and immediately snapped it up. It's currently $100 cheaper than the current lowest-priced 7800X3D.

That's a really good deal to save $100 and get most of the gaming performance, plus the extra cores for productivity work.

Firecudas are only a bit faster than Barracudas, if you want cheap then wait for the benchmark $20/TB sale price. Yes they are CMR unlike 8TB SMR barracudas but if you want good performance and price per TB all at once you should be going for 10TB+ anyway.
