1984 , 1 month ago Because they give them nice titles, and young devs want the status of the title. :) I tried being a manager but I hated everything about it. The dishonesty, the politics, the useless meetings. I'm back in a development role now and I'm super happy and excited to start the day. Almost no meetings!
