The older I get, the longer a headbanging hangover lasts.
Last time I went to a gig that I head banged at beginning to end, I had neck pain for A WEEK afterwards. I had to hold my head up with my hand for a couple days when I was eating.
I forget what car it is, but there's a car radio that has a "max volume on startup" option to avoid this issue.
Why is this feature not standard on everything? If every time my radio defaulted to a medium low volume, and I slowly turn it up then that'd be perfect.
While not even remotely a metal band…
I saw Underoath at a small local venue years ago that basically did this. Prior to the “open the pit part” they announced that the owner told them no encouraging moshing or it’d forfeit their payment. Being that the band told us that prior to the “open the pit” part they obviously knew what they were asking for and welcomed it. They were pulling the crowd up on stage to dive off and everything. The venue cut the mics and they kept going to finish the song. It was absolutely amazing.
The band is Cunt Punter. This is the cover for their single, "Anything Fits in the Male Urethra (With Enough Force)"
Overall a very solid band. I like how the lead singer literally sucks in air through a Pringles can filled with pigs' vocal chords. It's a meta commentary on the misandry inherent in the art form.
