“A huge and lively crowd has again marched, chanted and sung through the centre of Liverpool in solidarity with the people of Palestine. The march made a detour from its usual route to show solidarity with students encamped at Liverpool #University demanding #divestment of the university’s investments in and links with Israel and Israeli firms, two of whom were violently arrested yesterday after the university called in police to protect its ‘open day’ of prospective new students. The university’s pretext was allegedly a chalk drawing of a peace sign on paving outside the buildings.”
