Sounds interesting! I read Herodotus a couple of years ago for the first time because of his reputation as the first historian. It's fascinating how he reflected on his own writing, e.g. how he decided which stories he thought true (only first hand experiences). This felt very modern, despite it being written almost 2500 years ago.
