that's somewhat what i'm disputing. a lot of good YA literature is interesting or compelling to me and i haven't been a YA for a very long time. i don't think that's because i'm childish. i think good writing can be accessible to a wide age range.
i still re-read susan cooper and lloyd alexander. i consider them more just good fantasy than just "YA suitable".
