Is there anything more liberal than pearl clutching about property damage when your regime is actively participating a literal genocide.

Personally, I really hope the west pulls the trigger on this because it'll be the final nail in the coffin of western dominated global financial system.

I give it like 50/50, the bankers are firmly against it because they realize what an insane thing this would be to do, but the politics require constant escalation. A lot of what we saw over the past two years has been absolute insanity, but here we are.

Russia is the biggest economy in Europe in terms of PPP, and has a bigger industry than all of NATO combined. Yet, here we have you regurgitating nonsense that you've been spoon fed by your propagandists.

Well let's just see what people who actually have a clue have to say muffin https://rusi.org/explore-our-research/publications/commentary/attritional-art-war-lessons-russian-war-ukraine

And the fact that you don't even understand why using nominal GDP is nonsensical really does add to the comedy.

You mean because Bojo sabotaged the talks in Istanbul that could've prevented a war resulting in hundreds of thousands of people dying and Ukraine being destroyed in the process?

If we replace China with Britain and communism with soviet communism with capitalism in your sentence it actually makes sense https://www.yahoo.com/news/farmers-warn-food-aisles-soon-023000986.html

This still doesn’t make Russia magically have a larger industrial base than NATO, it’s absurd.

I guess at this point I shouldn't be surprised that your reading comprehension is poor.

You think Price Point Parity is a measure of size, so I’m not sure you even understand what you are trying to claim. You’re certainly not using the right terms

I certainly am using the right terms. Cost of production in Russia is far lower than in the west, which makes it absurd to make GDP comparisons. The fact that you can't understand this shows that you have no clue regarding the subject you're attempting to debate here. Here's an example that might help you understand what's happening

Russia’s production costs are also far lower than the West’s, in part because Moscow is sacrificing safety and quality in its effort to build weapons more cheaply, Mr. Salm said. For instance, it costs a Western country $5,000 to $6,000 to make a 155-millimeter artillery round, whereas it costs Russia about $600 to produce a comparable 152-millimeter artillery shell, he said.

And if you think Russia allocating 40% of government spending to be able to wage war on one small country makes them capable, good luck 🤞

Except Russia isn't doing anything of the sort. This is just something you pulled out of your ass because you're an extremely gullible individual who lacks capacity for critical thinking.

truth hurts I see

Only Cable News Viewers Think Israel isn't Committing a Genocide, Survey Finds ( theintercept.com )

Americans who get their news primarily from cable are the only people who believe that Israel is not committing a genocide in Gaza, according to a new survey that examined the relationship between attitudes toward the war and news consumption habits....

And yet there are still lots of people on here who tell us that western media is not biased, and trot out nonsense like mediabiasfactcheck to argue why we should only consume information from mainstream western sources.

Indeed, this is the key difference I see between liberals and conservatives in US. Conservatives are just more honest about their support for US hegemony by any means necessary. Meanwhile, liberals will do hand wringing and talk about lesser evils to justify atrocities.

US is used to being able to wage economic war on other countries because traditionally it has commanded a far bigger economy. Now, US is faced with an adversary whose economy is already bigger in terms of purchasing power, and continues to grow much more rapidly than US is. On top of that, China is now a more important trading partner than the US for the majority of the world. Attempts to bully China are achieving the opposite of the intended effect. China's response has consistently been to make themselves less dependent on US, which is making China stronger.
