I 100% agree with your point about security and private information, but you are way over qualified for this "job". ;)

It's kind of weird to ask someone to have all that mod experience and then expect them to just post their private information publicly, though. Surely if they have enough experience they'll already know what a bad idea it is to publicly post people's information, and it'll be hard to get them to apply.

It reminds me of a past job recognizing that I have a lot of cashier experience, but then not being able to understand why I refuse to share a till with anyone else. Duh, because I've been through that pain before and any smart office will want to avoid it, too.

I say to one of their neighbors, “their pies tasted better when they were using real sugar, but they’re scared the kids’ mommies will be mad because their kids are up all night so they just took the sugar out. Didn’t even replace it with anything. The Johnson’s still use real sugar, they don’t care.”

Actually, I would say that unless it impacts you negatively, you shouldn't criticize what others are giving freely. If they ask for criticism, that's fine. But you shouldn't volunteer it.

That "free pie stand" didn't do you wrong. You dumped a heap of negativity on them for something they did out of the goodness of their heart, spending their time, energy and hand-earned money on. And you were negative about it, staining their memory of that event for your own selfish desires.

If they had asked you, "why don't you want this pie?" you could have answered, nicely. But they didn't ask you.

Instead, you should have just left and gone to the Johnston's pie stand instead.

Just switched from a K1M to a P1S and it's night and day

I mostly loved my K1 Max but could not get the x-axis dialed in properly, so any time I tried to print anything with a circle it would come out a bit lumpy. I'd sold my CR-10 and upgraded because I was tired of the constant tinkering and just wanted a tool that, while it will need maintenance and the like, would mostly just do...

wccrawford ,

IMO, you didn't get unlucky with the K1M or lucky with the P1S. That's the normal state of printers. Most printers are hard to dial in well, and the Bambu printers work like a dream out of the box. Luck is involved for anyone that didn't start in those states.

You can never get to "fully 3d printed" unless you can print metal, and even then the tolerances just aren't there yet.

But if you want a 3d printer that's as 3d printed as it can get, why not look at things that were designed for it, like Rook or Mulbot or The 100?

I don't know about this instance, but in the general, it could be that the person is a complete fucking douche, and people are trying to stick it to them however they can. That might mean lying, blowing things out of proportion, or just slightly twisting the truth.

And once sharks smell blood, they swarm. One allegation will lead to another.

Again, I don't know the situation here and refuse to pick a side. Guilt is for the courts to decide. But there's plenty of people who will lie, cheat, and steal for money or fame.

wccrawford ,

They delisted them before they announced that they wouldn't require accounts after all.

wccrawford ,

Perhaps. Or perhaps they're a giant behemoth where 1 hand doesn't know what the other is doing, and the person with the authority for this hasn't bothered.

I bought the Kobo Libra Color and I love it so far. Previously I've had various Kindles and a Meeebook P78, and I like the Kobo a lot better so far. And I'm still just using it for B&W books at the moment.

The color is pretty faded, as you'd expect from e-ink. But I do enjoy that the book covers are in color.

I was actually hoping this was going to be a cover for my model, but oh well. :)

Gamesir T4 Kaleid. I love the hall effect joysticks, and it feels like it's the right size. The one negative is that it's wired-only.

OTOH, the GameSir Nova (not lite) is hot garbage. I hate almost everything about it, and its wireless PC connection (without the dongle that it does not come with) is trash. It's basically only good as a Switch controller... And I haven't even actually tried it for that.

The GameSir Nova Lite is much better, but still too small and you need to use the slightly-older 4200 firmware (from the official app) instead of the latest, because they got stupid about things.

I somewhat like the Xbox Elite V2 controller, but you have to get a good one. A bad one will have really crappy triggers that sometimes won't work. I think I've even heard that the sticks are sometimes wonky. And it's not hall effect.

wccrawford ,

I have plenty of space, and I still sold off my resin printer because of fumes, mess, and general headaches. I don't recommend it if you aren't fully prepared for what it requires to do it safely and sanely.

I don't think politely asking people to change their review so that it reflects reality is a "karen" move.

Google Fit dev APIs shutdown set for June 2025 ( 9to5google.com )

Google’s migration guide for developers lists what they’re supposed to switch to on Android phones and Wear OS. However, there is no replacement for the Goals API that lets Google Fit users set “how many steps and heart points they want to aim for each day.”

I was so upset when I subscribed to Google Fi and they told me I couldn't have my Voice account as well. Ugh.

Oh well, sometimes it's better to rip off that bandaid. I've further de-Googled since then and continue to do so slowly.

wccrawford ,

I think it's by design, not because they're stupid. They saw those forks right away and decided to let them get settled in and comfortable, and then removed them. Knowing that the hammer will come down eventually is really demoralizing. Knowing it'll come down right away means you can test the waters and see how it goes without much personal investment.

It seems pretty clear to me that they definitely intended to include breast jiggle physics at some level, and they decided that that was something that should be decided by the community. That would indicate to most casual readers that it's a priority for the devs. If they didn't realize that would strike a chord with both the pro-sexualization and anti-sexualization people, they weren't thinking at all.

This looks like a cutesy, cozy game that probably shouldn't even have jiggle physics. If they really wanted it in there, they should have just done it and said nothing. The "nasty people" they don't want to "attract" would have appreciated the jiggle, and everyone else would have just ignored it.

The devs brought it into the spotlight and it got talked about. I'm not surprised at that outcome at all.

wccrawford ,

Yeah, I got that the 150% was a joke. But I think the meat of the uproar wasn't the joke, but the whole situation of posting this for the community as if it's an important thing to decide. The joke didn't help, either, as it shows they weren't taking this seriously, further enraging people.

Sweeping it under the rug then rubbed everyone the wrong way.

Done well, I think "jiggle-physics" actually call less attention the chest, as it doesn't look unnatural. The games that get noticed aren't implementing it that way, though, so it gets a bad rap.

wccrawford ,

Why does it have in-app purchases?

wccrawford ,

Ah, so there's a premium version with more info on the downloads, and (I think) more search filters. Thanks!
