workers and resources is a nice game in this general style.

not just right wing parties. every country with an aging population needs more young laborers and migrants can help.

fascists just need someone to blame, and someone desperate to do the same work for less pay.

more like when we still believe a burgeois state will put good politicians in power.

he a rando that allegedly talked to spez.

is it true? it could very well be, his story is plausible.

but, like, take it with a handful of salt and don't believe just anything you read on the internet. plausible != true

the only reason i can think of is cgnatting ipv4 because of depleted pool. otherwise yea.

i believe you can NAT ipv6 too, i mean so you use the router's address only?

everyone can reach your device by simply connecting to that (external IP, external port)

to be fair thats the setup most people run when they open ports.

so do most electronics.

but you know, line must go up.

I made a thing! (Bluetooth speaker modeled from scratch) ( lemmy.world )

No banana for scale, but let's say that it's not too big and not too small. The dimensions are 295mm tall, 270mm wide, and 240mm deep. If I had to do it again, I would be tempted to go a bit wider and touch less deep. It's probably better to be large in one of these dimensions as opposed to both of them....

pandering to reviewers who use the phones for a couple of days instead of actual consumers who want to use it for a few years is probably the stupidest thing they do in this industry

give me a fucking replaceable battery so i can use it for more than a couple of years, stop removing features we all use just so it can feel futuristic and new. give me a repairable fucking phone.

like holy shit please take this off the hands of bean counting capitalists and marketers, and please put computers back in the hands of engineers.

Watch: Adobe angers artists with new Photoshop terms ( techcrunch.com )

Artists got an unpleasant surprise when they opened Photoshop this week, as they were shown a pop-up window asking them to agree to new terms of service. Among the changes: Adobe now says it has the right to access customers’ content through “automated or manual methods.”...

Can anyone help me with a problem with Photoshop on Linux (Lutris) ( feddit.nl )

I managed to get Photoshop CS6 installed on Lutris, using the script on their site. The problem is however, that whenever I open a file (doesn't matter if it is jpg, png, psd, etc.) the screen remains black. I can see the picture in the Layer thumbnail, but not in the main work-area. Does anyone know what the problem might be?...

aesthetics. people will perceive the aesthetics more than anything else.

startship troopers is a good example: it satirizes fascism but has the aesthetics of fascism, so thats what people perceive.

the boys was the same when conservatives liked homelander. he is the good looking blue eyed aryan with an epic powerful portrayal and those are usually the heroes.

the 'good guys' go in murderous rampages all the time in movies. its just usually framed as a good thing. 'oh those they killed were evil!', 'oh the city they destroyed was for the greater good!'

real life isnt so black and white but they do that same framing irl with varying levels of success.

this is what i was thinking. the article opens by saying it was ubiquitous in the 2000s, but thats only because of aggressive marketing and unfair monopolistic practices.

athlons were faster at lower clockspeeds for a big chunk of the 2000s and no one batted an eye.

pledges coming from any capitalist for-profit company mean nothing.

unless the pledge is cutting costs or making line go up or laying off a third of your employees.

how resource heavy and slow for what it is, how notifications break a lot of the time, how obtuse and unintuitive it usually is to do some simple stuff like sharing meetings and how everything thats not an absolute core feature will glitch out 8 times out of 10.

i'm sure some of these were fixed while they broke other stuff, they fuck around with it all the time. im thankfully not being forced to use it for a while right now.
