If it were me and there was no way to have an additional drop installed from the exterior, I would still consider running a single cable through the living space to your desired location, as discreetly as possible.

It's difficult to suggest exactly how to do so without pics or a floorplan, but I would try to match the wall or trim color and keep the cable tucked close to the floor and/or ceiling throughout the run.

Once in place, the cable will quickly disappear into your surroundings and you'll be left with rock solid reliable networking.

Hah, true enough! I knew of course that this was the only right answer, but still enjoy hearing what other folks would do in such situations.

For sure, I've already started scrubbing the rust away from the chrome using aluminum foil and I'm genuinely impressed by how well that works. The rims and fenders were badly peppered with rust and now look almost new.

Oddly enough, I grabbed it for that very reason but once I got it home and had a good look at things I realized it was quite a nice bike with all original parts made in Japan and Switzerland.

Looks great! I'd probably opt for a rattle can job since I'm already putting at least $200 into new tires, bar tape, cables, and a seat. Just debating whether a rattle can is worth it over keeping it old school...leaning towards a cleanup and clear coat for now.

I’m kind of a traditionalists with old mechanical things though, so maybe this is bananas.

Me too, so that's probably where I'll end up.

Classic theme ftw, and arguably the best version of the classic theme too.

How do you store your grounded coffee? ( slrpnk.net )

Hiya, just quickly wondering how people store their coffee? Mine is in a tin box I got second hand, cos I thought it looked nice. Any rules regarding storing grounded coffee? I don't store much at the time, it's just if I grind a little too much and what not. I'm assuming the general thumb rule for this is to store it in a...

Nice tin. We grind a 1L Mason jar's worth at a time and use a French press. One jar lasts about 2 weeks and honestly, I can't tell the difference between a fresh grind and a 2-week grind, regardless of bean used. I'm sure some would disagree :)
