Firstly, no, it's not gone forever. It remains in your onedrive recycling bin for a month. Secondly, that behavior makes sense. One drive is a mirror of your synced folders. If you just want to not have the file downloaded in your computer, just right click on the file and select "free up space".

potustheplant ,

It is. Another indicator you get is a status icon next to each file telling you if the file is permanently or temporarily (meaning it will get auto-deleted locally if you don't use it) dowloaded to your pc or if it's only on the cloud.

Oh, and you also get a prompt when you delete a file letting you know that it will be deleted from onedrive as well but it will still be in the recycling bin for a while. The only way to not get that prompt is to tick a box to not get reminded again.

Microsoft software has a lot of flaws but this isn't one of them.

I'm neither and I got it. It's a well known meme.

5k makes no sense in a 27" monitor and no gpu would be able to actually drive that many pixels in a game at a high refresh rate.

potustheplant ,

Do you use your tv for work 8+ hours a day with static elements on the screen at all times?

potustheplant ,

Text looks perfectly fine from a normal distance on a 27" 1440p monitor. And yeah, the pixel count IS significantly higher. It's about 16% more.

However, if you want higher power consumption and much lower fps for little to no gain, you do you brother.

You're right, they're not happy, they're dead. And delicious.

potustheplant ,

They're also from asus. Big no-no

potustheplant ,

Yeah, that has a locked bootloader and even though they promised you'd be able to unlock it, they never provided a way to do so. There's at least 1 case in which a user sued them over it and asus had to reimburse them.

Not to mention all of the issues with their pc hardware. They're a shit company and everyone should avoid them.

Sony Xperia 5V?

Don't know about that camera stuff but mobile banking doesn't have any issues. I have the Sony phone I mentioned above, I rooted it and it has the grand total of 0 issues.

potustheplant ,

For example? I mean, it is expensive but there are literally no other phones with the same chipset, an sd card slot and a headphone jack. Vote with your wallet, etc.

Tbf, I also got it for about $600 so in my case it wasn't that expensive.

potustheplant ,

There's no need for a defense, buy what you want. However, there are lots of sub-1000 phones that are very good.

potustheplant ,

Yeah, goog luck using that and not getting robbed in my city. Some things might sound sensible on paper, not so much in the real world.

potustheplant ,

True. Which is why saying generically saying "people" is not correct considering that not every city can be traversed in a bike due to a large number of reasons.

potustheplant ,

I have a Poco X3 Pro and I have both + an sd slot
