Not really new but probably not that popular for everyone.
It seems it was coined in 2010: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_pattern. In the web dev space I was using it like 8-9 years ago, more or less.

I think making the rich mingle with the normal people more would be beneficial. It's harder to dehumanize the poor when you've met them. Can't call them lazy or stupid and just not "wanting" it enough when you see them work as hard as you and not getting as far.
Although, I think the way things are it'll never happen though. Nepo babies would dodge everything even if something like this were to occur.
You're absolutely right. I was trying to get what I hoped was the salient point out of the person's post.
I knew a few guys in Europe I think maybe Austrian or something where they came from lots of money but went to school with "others" and they seemed pretty well-adjusted. Although, they have a lot of the other advantages that you've listed as well.
I have a reminder to cancel Amazon Prime in a month. I never really used the TV portion until a few months ago and was like, fine ... the selection sucks but it's alright. After they introduced the ads now, it's unusable to me. I'm getting rid of it entirely and not rewarding this type of behaviour.

I think it's 'cause we know more about him. I think if we knew he was a whimsical dude and legitimately trying to help people instead of enriching himself, we'd see these pics and give him a bit more of a pass.
It's a story from April, I tried seeing if it was posted before, however it's the story about how the advertising and finance team beat the search team into submission by ousting the core person protecting it to pursue "growth" and "revenue" at all costs.
First time watching Lemmino and I'm an instant subscriber now, it was a great video. Not gonna lie the bait at the end was really enticing and I hope that this does get solved soon!
Honestly, I didn't see it coming and I was really impressed by the end. I didn't know if I enjoyed the movie until two weeks later. I think it threw me in for a loop for a while where I just kept thinking about it (I think that's what good art does).
I settled on it being a great movie and that I wanted to talk to someone about, but I couldn't recommend (due to the subject matter and my lack of being able to provide a good description) :P
See, it turns out that the Rabbit R1 seems to run Android under the hood and the entire interface users interact with is powered by a single Android app. A tipster shared the Rabbit R1’s launcher APK with us, and with a bit of tinkering, we managed to install it on an Android phone, specifically a Pixel 6a....
“rabbit r1 is not an Android app. We are aware there are some unofficial rabbit OS app/website emulators out there. We understand the passion that people have to get a taste of our AI and LAM instead of waiting for their r1 to arrive. That being said, to clear any misunderstanding and set the record straight, rabbit OS and LAM run on the cloud with very bespoke AOSP and lower level firmware modifications, therefore a local bootleg APK without the proper OS and Cloud endpoints won’t be able to access our service. rabbit OS is customized for r1 and we do not support third-party clients. Using a bootlegged APK or webclient carries significant risks; malicious actors are known to publish bootlegged apps that steal your data. For this reason, we recommend that users avoid these bootlegged rabbit OS apps.”
So there's literally no reason for this to have been a device at all.
I went vegetarian for a bit. I was never vocal about it. I just skipped ordering meat from the menu and asked for veggie options from the waiter. I was surprised the amount of people that gave me shit for it. It was like, "you know animals eat other animals right?" I used to respond with: "yes, but I want to do it for ecological reasons because factory farming is destroying our environment". I remember getting short with people after a short period of time and started saying: "I graduated from university, what do you think?"
Most of my vegan friends are so nice. Their partners eat meat and they let them live.
Very rarely will you get a "vegan gainz" type person that laughs at people that die or have cancer because they've eaten meat. Those type of people are completely repulsive but they're rarely the people I've encountered that are vegans.
