There are certainly hobbyists making good content. Most of the great content is from people making a living off it. They have time and resources to devote to doing deep dives into subjects that hobbyists just generally don't. The bigger problem as far as filling the internet with crap goes is all the react content and people making clips of other people's stuff that adds nothing to it and whatever YouTube shorts are supposed to be.
My old job I used to have a lot of days where I'd have meetings every half hour or often consecutively. It was impossible to actually get anything big done because I'd just always be organizing notes from the last one or prepping for the next one. I between it was all I could do to put out fires. It was insane.
It's so stupid. All the phones newer than mine have less hardware features so if I replace it I'll have to find new ways of doing a bunch of things. I'm just accepting the risk at this point until manufacturers get their heads out of their asses and make something decent or my carrier stops supporting my phone. I'd have probably bought two more phones since I got this one if everything wasn't a downgrade from what I have currently.
I just can't fathom how a woman can overpower a man in that manner. Even if a woman is physically stronger than the man. If a man really doesn't want to, how could she even make him erect by force, let alone force it inside her?...
Would he have had unprotected sex with her if he knew the truth? If not it's pretty rapey. What if it were the other way around and he had slipped the condom off without her knowledge?
The only difference between it being forcible rape and it being "deception" is that the victim doesn't know the real situation. It's still forcing them to have sex against their will because if they knew the truth they would resist. The dictionary also supports this being rape.

Amazon (AMZN.O) is planning a major revamp of its decade-old money-losing Alexa service to include a conversational generative AI with two tiers of service and has considered a monthly fee of around $5 to access the superior version, according to people with direct knowledge of the company's plans.
Yeah, One of the vendors I work with emailed me to let me know they'd be off that day and I had to look it up. It would have been the same if it was called abolition day or something like that but there's something a little annoying about the fact that they made it halfway with putting the date in the name.
I've been working for 20+ years and I'd never heard of it until a couple years ago. I don't have a problem with it, celebrating stuff is cool, but it does seem to have come out of nowhere when it became a political issue. Maybe it was a regional thing before that.
Yeah that was when I first heard of it. I researched it at the time and saw that it has been around for a long time but I had never heard of it before that and I'd consider myself to be pretty well read on history in general. Obviously enough people were aware of it to push for a holiday so maybe it's just the part of the country I'm from it wasn't celebrated much idk.
My non EV is still perfectly serviceable and I don't like all the superfluous electronic touchscreen bullshit they're putting in modern vehicles so I'm going to keep driving it until the wheels fall off.
The problem is they integrate that shit with the functions you do want like the radio and AC and then make you operate it all through a god damn touchscreen so that if you get on the highway before you realize you forgot to turn the shitty lane assist off you now have to take your life in your hands to disable it or risk it ramming you into that ladder or pothole or something because it doesn't want you to change lanes abruptly.
I watched it a bit growing up and never got racist vibes from it either. The Confederate flag just meant "the south" to me back then. I knew a lot of people with them on various knick knacks and articles of clothing that I never witnessed being racist either. I don't think people put so much thought into it back then.
These days though, yeah if you're still flying that flag you're probably an asshole.
Are there any small trucks available that aren't crew cabs? I know the maverick didn't have an option for it last time I looked and that's everyone always suggests when I bring up that I hate all the available trucks these days. I don't need to cart around a family of four. I need to haul lumber, tools, and furniture. Give me a single cab with a full bed that isn't half the size of a school bus. Thanks to the fucking chicken tax and CAFE that's impossible now.
It could be 8ft if they ditched the extended cab and I do not want a full size truck. I'm short as fuck and they're a pain in the ass to get things in and out of and just more of a pain to get around in general. I want a truck like the 1998 Ford Ranger. Unless something like that becomes available I'll stick to my civic and borrowing my dad's shitty Colorado when I need a truck.
The Ranger never had an 8ft bed so I don’t know why an extended cab + 6 ft bed isn’t ok
I was just pointing out that they could do that and it would be better for me. If you need the stuff you're hauling to be protected from the elements you can use a bed cover or a tarp. Even with my civic I just put groceries or whatever small stuff in the passenger seat. I have little use for interior space. There have been many occasions using that Colorado where a longer bed would have been great.
As far as old trucks go you'd have to go back a lot further than five years to find something that meets the criteria I'm looking for and hope you find one that was actually cared for.
Psychological inflexibility here means getting stuck in rigid behavior patterns to the point that it messes with living a full and meaningful life.
Rigid behavioral patterns like having to work 40 hours a week, shop, feed yourself, clean, do laundry, go to the doctor, pay bills and so on, over and over and over again for the rest of your life?

My job is in the early stages of planning for updating everything to windows 11. I just got my testing VM with it the other day which is my first experience with it and I had an almost physical reaction to how bad the gui looks when I first logged in. I haven't even done anything with it and I already hate it.
On the other hand the Linux VM I set up at home to test my personal stuff out on has been going swimmingly.
Installing Linux is a pretty trivial process at this point. Not much additional work beyond what already comes with setting up a new laptop. Especially of you've already done it before.
Reminds me of the scene in Parks and Rec where they take Ron to a meditation place and he's just like "what's the big deal? I just sat there and thought about nothing for 2 hours."

Back in my day people were throwing the r word around without consequences. Basically using it as a synonym for idiot or dumbass. It didn't start being brought up as an issue until well into my adulthood. I don't really associate it with people who are disabled because of that. That being said I try not to use it now.
Every time I start the app up it has some Taylor Swift or other pop music in the thing where whatever I was listening to previously should be. I've never searched for pop music so I'm not sure why they think that's helping.
Yea, it makes no sense to keep putting the spotlight on him. His trial is done and over with. Regardless of which side of it you're on. If anything it helps him when people try to dunk on him for shit he says because more are just going to come out to support him.
Basic blender went bad (motor ran but spindle wasn't rotating). I wanted to disassemble to see if it could be repaired. Three of the four screws were Phillips head. I had to cut the casing open in order to discover why I couldn't unscrew the fourth. It was a slotted spanner.
