Man what an amazing artistic statement that would be... For a company to build human replacement robots, but build into them some trigger for them to start jumping out of windows.
Bro I'd literally be impressed if we set a 1000x cap.
100x would be a reasonable utopian goal from where we are today.
5x is hard to even fathom. Especially when there exists a ~3x gap in minimum wages across the country.
I propose the minimum wage goes to $250/hr. Maximum wage goes to $2500/hr. You can make between 500k and 5m a year. The only catch is that 60% of it gets taxed up to 1M And 80% gets taxed beyond that. If you somehow do get more that $5M in a year, every dollar after 5M is taxed at a rate of 99.99%.
So you can make 100k - 200k after taxes and be poor.
You can make 200k - 1M after taxes and be the upper middle class.
Musks 46B would be... 5.6M after all taxes applied.
I originally posted irregularly on a sub and when I asked a mod for help as to why my posts weren't being approved, he randomly banned me from the sub without asking. I messaged and he said in the future I will be allowed again, he said 30 days....
I got banned from r/politics for saying we were just waiting for old people to croak. "Permabanned". Lasted like 3.5 years? Idk why/when I was unbanned.
I'm going to university this September. Nearly everybody says "In university they don't try to understand what you've written it is unintelligible." My handwriting is incredibly ugly. I want to improve it by the time I go to uni....
It's a motor skill. Consistent deliberate practice will yield results.
Write very very slowly. Practice all the specific movements for all letter combos. Only allow your speed of writing to increase if the quality doesn't suffer.
It's literally exactly like playing piano to your brain.
What would aliens think if they leaned we evolved fear as a survival mechanism, but we intentionally seek out situations that trigger our fear response, for fun?...
They would think that we create sport out of pushing our physical limits so as to advance our physical limits at an optimal pace.
"The human performed two whole rotations! And while doing so, they removed their vehicle, spun it around their body, and placed it back beneath their feet before landing! However, clearly the humans valued the human who performed two and a half rotations a lot more. They call home 'Tony Hawk'".
Instead, they'll pay their bottom tier employees to get berated by people with legitimate gripes, settle for a class action, and keep on sailing the skies.
Disclaimer: I am not trolling, I am an autistic person who doesn’t understand so many social nuances. Also I am from New Hampshire (97% white), so I just don’t have any close African-American friends that I am willing to risk asking such a loaded question.
Like I'm a left leaning generic progressive white guy with a degree that includes a Sociology minor. This shit is so fascinating to me.
I don't know many black people, personally. Maybe 10 humans I know (like... Might send a social media message to because we are casual acquaintances) are black. I live in a rural area. Two are vegan, but the rest do indeed love fried chicken. We joke, I'veasked. I mean fuck, So do I. What meat eater doesn't? It's such a bizarre stereotype from the start. I believe I've heard it has to do with slaves being given the wings and appendages of chicken? But I don't know the veracity of that. Seems plausible?
Does it.... Disrupt the order of your life? Or are you getting through it?
Like, oh you say you've got OCD, cause you have to wash your hands all the time? So... Has it made you late for work? Do you set your alarm early so you're not late for work?
Stuff like that raises a big red flag for a disorder.
This isn't diagnostic, but it's an easy way to break like 95% of inaccurate self diagnoses.
Over 70% of cybersecurity professionals often have to work weekends to address security concerns at their organization, according to a new report by Bitdefender....
And ~100% of cybersecurity pros work ad hoc 100% of the time...
They probably put in 2-10 hours of actual work in a given week. Just like any desk job that doesn't sit on zoom calls all day.
Edit: 100% of people downvoting this should first Google "ad hoc." Or are just envious that I have a cybersec job making good money doing nothing all day. Sucks to suck. 🤷♂️
Kinda how ~100% of IT salaried positions work. If you're confused, you're probably hourly.
No, SOAR tools make life pretty easy. 5 person SOC team + boss, 700 person org. Not overstaffed.
I get a few alerts every few hours. Investigate, determine if false positive, and go back to gaming. Unless it's the off chance it's not a false positive. Then I do an hour of work or so. Then back to gaming.
I've been looking for a new job as a software developer. The huge majority of job listings I see in my area are hybrid or remote. I just had an introductory phone call with Vizio (which didn't specify the location type in the job listing). The recruiter told me that the job was fully on-site, which I told her was a deal breaker...
Not jargon. Recognized by the Oxford advanced learner's dictionary. Perhaps your understanding of English is not "advanced".
It is what I am asking. It is my ask.
What an absurdly pointless hair to attempt to split. It'd be one thing if you were being inquisitive, but you're out here just confidently incorrecting people lmao.
They're designed for people who are about 5'0". They take so much longer than speaking the order to a person, especially if you have any customizations to add/remove.
That surely won't result in an alarming use rate of words like n****r and f****t. Hell, that's the window of the hit YouTube video entitled "N****rF****t" starring... A member of the defuct comedy group (Derrick Comedy) that made the film, Donald Glover.
Bizarre how fast the changes we've seen have happened. The video was purposefully 'edgy,' but still.

considering the current state of the world and things like the resurgence of fascism and other authoritarian ideologies, do you think there is still a chance to avoid a new world war or now is unavoidable?
China will attack Taiwan before Christmas. That'll likely be the flashpoint. That's been my two cents for over a year now.
North/South Korea going at it.
North Korea supplying Russia arms to fight Ukraine.
US okaying more and more, blurring NATO lines. NATO is basically involved in the Russia Ukraine war.
China and India appear to be buying Russia oil/gas still, keeping their war machine afloat. Amongst other financial vestments.
Then we have Israel pummeling Palestine. Iran attacking Israel. NATO countries don't agree about whether or not this is a genocide.
When China invades Taiwan, TSMC will shut down their facilities. The US has been pouring billions into semiconductor manufacturing on US soil, because when China invades Taiwan and tscm shuts down, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, Nvidia, AMD, Intel, IBM, Meta, Amazon, and many more will be in hot water. Because of this, the US has an insane naval presence and alliance with Japan to protect the South China seas.
That was a quick Google result it might not be in that article. I just chose it because AP. There's dozens of articles about conversations between Xi and Biden.
The discourse is generally "By 2025" "in 2027" and "before 2030". Given the discourse and tension in the South China Sea, it looks very much like a "By 2025" situation. Just my bet. Ties into computational supremacy, embargos, TSMC, Taiwan reunification, and more.
It's been difficult to broach the subject and explain the technical concepts to the average person. I did have some success in first sharing the email comparison, which lead into interoperability....
I ask if they've heard of mastodon because most people with any ties to the internet have. Then I say there's a new wave of platforms that are all federated, kinda like how like someone could send an email from a user @aol.clm to a user @msn.com or whatever, which means there's no real way to centralize the platforms.
I'm thinking the animals would easily defeat us, since trying to get all 8 billion+ humans to agree on a plan of attack would be a near-impossible task. By the time we'd be done trying to coordinate a plan, I figure the lions and cheetahs would have already devoured us, not to mention the larger animals like the elephants....

This is so bad that I'm going to intervene with my elderly parents next PC purchase. Setup a Kubuntu or Mint machine for the using some refurbed wiped former windows 10 machines for a quarter the price.
If you have elderly parents, I advise you all do the same. There are threat actors that want to nab your inheritance before your parents kick the bucket.
I advise Kubuntu or Mint because they're basically Linux for windows users.
I'm 36. It happens bit by fucking bit. My studio right now:

Don't get me started on my home server, and VST collection (served to Windows, Apple and Linux clients on the network). Ugh that setup was a nightmare. Reaper rules.

I worked for a company that had over 300 clients with sites with them. They don't give a fuck. We literally moved over 300 accounts to another provider over their shit support/sales teams. Domain, hosting everything.
They. Don't. Care.
They took down services by trying things that aren't possible on their platform (DMARC for subdomain). Totally unacceptable. How tf do they not know that they can't accommodate my request without damaging my infrastructure?! Other providers can do DMARC for subdimains?!? WTF?!?!
If they're your provider and you're in trouble, contact Newfold Digital support first. That's their parents company. They tend to route you better than Bluehost does. Shit Bluehost chat support has been broken for like 3 months lmao.
