Took the referral from the company psychlogist recommending diagnosis for ADHD and ASD to my GP, got a referral to a psychiatrist and a name, called that one today, and surprisingly have an appointment in 1.5 weeks ... 😯

Any advice?

@PossiblyAutistic
Take medical documentation if you have some.
IDK about procedures in your country, but some things may give a head start (cardiology, neurology, liver enzymes).

@Aerliss
Neurology is to exclude any other problems. Cardiology and enzymes to see if your body can handle the medications safely (at least for methylphenidate).
But see country to country dfferences. F.e. in Poland there are no such tests, but the psychology/psychiatry regulations are a farce.

Duh, same for the whole world.

The point is that the “drug abusers” argument at the same time gate-keeps people that need those medications.

@actuallyautistic Opinions and advice welcomed. Of social media, I'm only here on fediverse. And I've been mostly inactive, due to various reasons. It hasn't served me well, one could say. Probably mostly because I didn't tailor stuff for myself, but followed all those "You're new to Mastodon, here's what you should do" posts. (As a sidenote, if you're neurospicy, don't follow such things in general. Utilize yes, get ideas yes, but they are not meant to be followed!)

Now I'd like (read need, for personal reasons) to get more active, but specifically within the neurodivergent community. So what is an AuDHDer to do?

Ditch this withered generalist account of mine (I'd need to tear it down and start from scratch anyways at least) and hop on some ND instance but still stay on fedi?
Hop over to Bluesky and but just follow other ND folks?
Discord, Ceiling Cat forbid?
Something else?

Like, what has worked best for you, to connect to peers in this kind of setting? What would you recommend? What would you advice against? Mind you, I'm one of those "grew old but didn't grew up" spicyheads so... Yeah, there's that too.

Halp, please!

Matters a bit in terms of resource usage and potential failures.
Essentially you should move from larger instances to mid-sized ones, with a dedicated team with resources ability to crowdsource.

But if one is new on the Federation then this is one of those things that can be addressed later.

Any tips for making lots of small tasks easier for a monotrophic mind? Much of my work consists of long term projects which need a little bit of attention periodically, often in the form of follow-up emails. I currently alternate between replying to what's come in and reviewing my calendar to check what's coming up, but there's very little job satisfaction. Turning off email notifications and dealing with them all at once isn't enough. What else could I try? @actuallyautistic

@bananamangodog I had a similar thought when toying around with my Vikunja installation and just clicked on the Gantt chart.
I'm also trying to fire up PM software for my home use (Redmine), but I'm having trouble due to exec-impariment (and a lot of tasks backed up (as in “clogged”, not “backup” .) in Taskwarrior.
