The original Call of Duty was my favorite. I didn't have a good computer so I played it at a LAN center for a good while. The game also kicked off a domino of events in my friends life when I gave him a CD key for it.
My friend got pretty good at the game and joined a competitive CAL-M team, and even played at a CPL championship tournament. Well after he graduated college one of the people he played with on the team and he started a company making websites. When he told me what he was doing, I told him just don't blow too much money on it.
They ended up pivoting from their original plan of making fitness blog sites, among other niche sites they felt could generate ad revenue to making flash game sites.
They did moderately well in their endeavors and scored some high ranking search results for a few categories of flash games. They were making hundreds of thousands each and he moved to another to save on income tax. In the new state he met a woman and they ended up getting married, so I was able to draw a direct path from me giving him a CD key for cod to him getting moderately wealthy and finding a wife.
Unfortunately the last domino hasn't fallen, and it turned out she was a lieing, money grubbing, cheating whore. Flash games died out but my friend moved on to other things. He is doing great, happily remarried and we both had our first kid within about a month of each other.
I'd love to see a study on the religiosity, political affiliation, education, wealth, career, and age of people who get scammed and the types of scams they fell for.
I actually get crypto as a concept but I really think their can only be one coin of any true value, and right now it's Bitcoin. I think at some point something will come and knock it off the pedistool.
I'm not a get rich quick kinda guy so I never bothered with crypto and have only played around with a little bit of money trading stocks and treated it just like I do gambling (money I will lose, although I did make a bit of money back on GameStop lol).
I mean one of the candidates is a convicted felon that worships dictators and has said he will go after political rivals and that he'd be a dictator for a day.
People getting mad about it are the problem. Instead of being offended men should probably wonder why women might feel that way. I'm a guy with a daughter and I'd tell her to pick the bear. Men as a whole are pretty terrible, and I will definitely instill that in my daughter and teach her to be cautious with men.
Many women experience sexual assault first hand, it's not a small percentage.
According to RAINN, 1 in 6 American women have been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime. Additionally, 1 in 3 women and about 1 in 9 men experienced sexual harassment in a public place.
Young women are especially at risk, with 82% of all juvenile victims being female, and 90% of adult rape victims being female. Females ages 16-19 are 4 times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault. Women ages 18-24 who are college students are 3 times more likely than women in general to experience sexual violence.
Estimates of sexual assault vary based on definitions and methodology, but generally find that somewhere between 19–27% of college women and 6–8% of college men are sexually assaulted during their time in college.
Those numbers are disgusting. Take a highschool class of 30 15 girls there is a good chance 2 of them have been sexually assaulted or will be.
In 100 person college lecture there is a good chance that 13 women in the class have been/or will be sexually assaulted.
I guarantee a female relative of yours has been sexually assaulted, more than likely by a male relative or family friend.
