Those two vertical lines on the right side aren't part of the meme. They're faults on my TV that I keep forgetting about the moment I stop consciously noticing them. And on the rare occasion that I'm moved to try and do something about it, I'm stopped from getting it fixed by 3 things...

I hate it when luddites pine for the days of my childhood and early adulthood where the storage, transfer, and use of every single type of media was so damn impractical compared to now.

That's probably because the loudest and most overly defensive ones are the Americans you're most likely to encounter and remember in online arguments and on American news, so that colors the perception. Especially when you don't live amongst the more reasonable majority of Americans 🤷

Also should be underlined that ADHD is sometimes called an "invisible handicap" because a lot of the symptoms are just much worse versions of things neurotypicals deal with too.

Example: everyone can have trouble motivating themselves for a task they're not passionate about. With ADHD's innate dopamine deficiency,it can be literally impossible without proper coping tools and/or meds, sometimes no matter what.

A possibly useful analogy would be that sometimes the hill that someone neurotypical has to climb is a mountain for someone with ADHD or similar challenges. Not every neurotypical person understands that their hill can be a mountain or that the person with ADHD can only scale it with the right tools, guidance and a lot more effort.

I was very wary when I switched over the day before the app-pocalypse because of my experience trying to replace twitter with Mastodon, but this place has NOT felt like yelling into the void, it's immediately done most of what I used reddit for!
