Beehaw, perhaps.

I don't find the larger fediverse quiet at all. I think a lot for smaller communities have died. Following the mass migration, but that's not a bad thing either.

I follow a lot of shitpost communities, though. Not sure what you're interested in

Careful with memes: the pearl clutchers might come out of the woodwork. They seem bad lately

I'd ague that BPA is the least of our worries as far as contaminants are concerned

Track_Shovel ,

It is, I agree, just you went pretty hard there b'y, so I was thinking it was your main concern

Some genius sticks 'i did that' stickers on my local gas pumps, but they star Trudeau.

Not a single original thought was had by the Canadian Right.

Track_Shovel OP ,

No, I think it serves to speak to how ridiculous our right is in that they can't even come up with their own brand of facism

CCS doesn't work. I think most companies realize this but go ahead and try and do it anyway, for the greenwashing/EHS reasons.

There are a few huge CCS projects out in Edmonton - one for hieldelberg (proposed?) and Shell's project. Recovery rates vary drastically on CO2: from 50ish to 75%, but it's the economic cost that shutters them.

OP mentions that there isn't enough content.

I made the hard switch with a lot of other users on June 13, 2023. I haven't looked back. It was a bit weird to wrap my head around lemmy and federation at first. Lemmy also grew astronomically in those initial few months. More communities opened up, etc. A lot of those communities have died off, but the point I'm trying to make is that there is more than enough content here, if you look for it.

Another commentator points out ComMuNisT propaganda; I don't find it that bad. there's a couple communities that are tankies, or definitely hard left. There's also a lot of middle ground. I do find Lemmy more left leaning than Reddit, and much less likely to tolerate people with nationalistic views, but, as with all things internet, vote with your feet. Don't like it, then leave.

Overall, Lemmy is a lot more chill and I encounter a lot less persnickety users on here.

You don't match on the capitol unless you want to be painted with the same brush as the Jan 6 Rioters.

Even Caesar knew what crossing the Rubicon meant, and would result in.

Meanwhile, in Manitoba, several bodies are suspected to reside in a landfill and they were doing sweet fuck all about it until recently. It was even a political thing people were taking sides on.

Imagine being this (or any) parent having to hope they find the kid that you raised from an infant, in the fucking landfill.

Gut wrenching.

Imagine, now, people saying they shouldn't look for them. Politicians taking sides on the issue....

Despicable

This post article goes REALLY into why. I am in no way a techie nor do I really care too much what goes on in the tech sector. I will never build a PC. Regardless, that article is extremely well written and worth the time despite the length.

This alone was worth the read. I'm not tech-inclined, really. I don't read articles on tech, follow it, or know much about computer science. However, this article was really well written, and they paint a scathing picture of said ratfucker.
