How much is it compared to private jets?

SomeGuy69 ,

I use RedReader on Android, no VPN or extra script required. On desktop I have yet to see a login wall.

SomeGuy69 ,

Imagine an international tax founded fediverse with Lemmy, Mastodon, peertube and others. My personal dream.

SomeGuy69 ,

Opt-in but you get an annoying full screen popup every boot, like for the windows11 upgrade. It's only a matter of time, til they sell AI recall features as Win12 and then beg you to upgrade for free, pretty please!

SomeGuy69 ,

This should count as violation of human rights. You're chained to the seat for hours and have no other option than look at this screen or force your eyes closed. Holy shit, people should get really mad. Flashing ads on a screen you don't look at directly are still very annoying, even if you look on your phone.

SomeGuy69 ,

I like everything if it's at least distinguishable from nails in a mixer, because that's not music to me.

To a way you can already do AI audio chat with sillytavern or tavernAI and oobabooga llm in the backend. Its a little setup required but you can find online tutorials. For example from aitrepreneur on YT. It's not perfect yet, but we'll get there. It's already fun to use, I just wish I had a better PC to run with a bigger and newer language model. Now using a recall function, that's too new, but I'd not surprised if we get that in a few months.

SomeGuy69 ,

Why is this upvoted. It's a wrong statement. Maybe there's no recall open source local AI yet but voice chat with AI is already possible without sending your information to anyone else.

CEO of Google Says It Has No Solution for Its AI Providing Wildly Incorrect Information ( futurism.com )

You know how Google's new feature called AI Overviews is prone to spitting out wildly incorrect answers to search queries? In one instance, AI Overviews told a user to use glue on pizza to make sure the cheese won't slide off (pssst...please don't do this.)...

SomeGuy69 ,

I mean they could disable it until it works, else it's knowingly misleading people

Who doesn't like getting lawyer PMs because you made a dark joke on a meme subreddit? (Or in future fediverse)

SomeGuy69 ,

I click less because it's less time consuming on those almost endless captchas. So person on bike, no. Bike itself, yes. Small pixel in another square, no. Often I get through by just clicking >50% of the tiles that seam required, like just the middle 1-2 parts of the bike and click proceed. Screw those where you habe to select all tiles because of a bus close-up.

SomeGuy69 ,

So many people and politicians are falling for bots already. I think it's too late, because at the same time most lost the will to care. If no one cares, things get worse.

SomeGuy69 ,

Won't last long. Free apps will ruin that Amazon subscription plan fast. One can already get a local and free chatAI and it's already just a few clicks setup and I wouldn't be surprised if these get made more easier for the mainstream any day. The tech is just too new, but were getting there soon.

SomeGuy69 ,

It's a crazy experience of her telling this story. I've watched 3 of the 4 hours so far and might do the rest today. You can tell the desperation in her voice on day one, when you can see the boring games and faction quests didn't work, or her role playing was simply ignored, but some things are even worse, like the used emergency measures in place, in case of fire or the really bad app or extra paying for drinks on a $6000 trip. Nightmarish.

The horror if all the OF thots would've swarmed the portal after this incident.

Edit fixed typo

SomeGuy69 ,

Yeah, you're correct.

Firefox 126: New Search Data Telemetry, Improved Copy Without Site Tracking, Security Fixes, and More ( www.mozilla.org )

Telemetry was added to create an aggregate count of searches by category to broadly inform search feature development. These categories are based on 20 high-level content types, such as "sports,” "business," and "travel". This data will not be associated with specific users and will be collected using OHTTP to remove IP...

SomeGuy69 ,

I was surprised yesterday telemetry was enabled. I don't remember enabling it.

SomeGuy69 ,

The ability to speak doesn't mean you're intelligent.

SomeGuy69 ,

Sure, put it on the pile of other big titty pictures no one will ever look at twice.

SomeGuy69 ,

Which GoogleMaps alternative has user reviews? I downloaded organic maps suggested here and there are no reviews. When I'm in a new town I need to know where I can and where I shouldn't eat, shop or stay. At least there are some icons on organic maps, but that's it.

SomeGuy69 ,

Not when you're new in an unknown city. In my local city the ratings still make sense, I compared it with my own experience, so why would that change drastically elsewhere? It's often the only option you have, visiting every website individually is too time consuming and doesn't tell you anything about the service either. I bet even you look at reviews. It's easy to say their are faked but there is no non faked alternative.

All this tells is car producer haven't reached peak profit yet. As with every product in capitalist humanity, they'll now tweak the quality to be in line with the combustion engine cars. Anyone remember the story about light bulbs? How they'd last almost forever, but it was secretly decided that this is bad, as customers would never need to buy a new one, so they intentionally made them worse. eCars are still too new, so they are not daring enough yet.

Edit: thanks for the comments who backed me up.

SomeGuy69 ,

You tried drinking a lot of water before sleeping? Humidity alone doesn't help.

SomeGuy69 ,

Looks fragile, like as if the next strong storm would remove all the plants. But maybe I'm wrong.

SomeGuy69 ,

It's just a matter of time. Technically it's not too different then lobbying.

SomeGuy69 ,

I would like to run the apk, anyone got the app download?

SomeGuy69 ,

Isn't that like 99,99% of all apps out there?

An AI startup made a hyperrealistic deepfake of me that’s so good it’s scary ( www.technologyreview.com )

Thanks to rapid advancements in generative AI and a glut of training data created by human actors that has been fed into its AI model, Synthesia has been able to produce avatars that are indeed more humanlike and more expressive than their predecessors. The digital clones are better able to match their reactions and intonation...

SomeGuy69 ,

Your comment reads like rambling, unless you're so much smarter than anybody else. I couldn't make out many cohesive thoughts, merely guessing here.

First of, our universe doesn't change the moment we touch something, else any interaction would create a parallel universe, which in itself is fiction and unobservable.

Then you talk about removing persistent information. Why would you do that and how would you do that? What is the point of even wanting or trying to do that? An AI robot talking and moving isn't that different than when we had non AI, case based reasoning. Even the most random noise AI can produce is based of something. It's a sum of values. We didn't and don't generate a computerized random number any differnt.

You can't proof that our universe is or isn't simulated, simplified the simulation would only need to stimulate your life in your head, not more. Actually what your eyes see and what your brain is receiving, is already a form of simulation, as it is not exact.

No Man's Sky is using generic if else switch cases to generate randomness. Else you'd get donut planets for instance or a cat as planet, but you never will in infinite generations. Just because there's mathematical randomness by adding noise, doesn't make it change much about its constraints.
Even current AI is deterministic, but the effort to prove that isn't realistically approachable. I personality believe even a human brain would be provable deterministic, if you could look into the finest details and reproduce it. But we can't reverse time, so that's going to be impossible.

However we can only observe our own current universe. So how would AI change that now? Also our universe is changing even when you yourself interact with nothing.

It would help if your were more precise in what you're implying. What change of anyone's perspective? Doesn't seam to be any different to the past, unless you mean tech illiterate, like people would react on seeing a video/photo of themselves for the first time. It's not like AI can read your mind and interact with things the same way you would, nor even predict or do the same as you.

AI is just guessing and that's often good enough, but it can be totally wrong (for now) by doing deterministically things with only one solution. It can summarize text but will fail by simple math calculations, because it's not calculating but guessing by probability, in its realm of constraints.

Because Sweet Baby Inc is known for forcing a narrative and tokens into the writing, for the sake of diversity on the cost of quality of the story and the characters. A lot of people don't like that.

Now the issue is much bigger than that and I don't like to involve myself with it much, as the controversy attracts a lot of truly bigot people, who also want to stop SBI. So one automatically gets shoved into that corner. And this is exactly what SBI is abusing to their advantage. No one can stop them from destroying good games in fear of getting burned on the stack.
