Ptsf , to Fuck Subscriptions in Eat shit Spotify.

You asked simply what they were referring to, ya fucking dick. I gave you an answer.

Ptsf , to Selfhosted in Can the SATA-to-USB adapter affect the result of the bad sectors scan?

Any poor quality connector can affect a sector scan and drive performance. Doesn't matter if it's connected to a corroded usb port or a bent internal sata, at the end of the day if you're getting disk errors it's best to measure using two methodologies/data pathways.

Ptsf , to Fuck Subscriptions in Eat shit Spotify.

Due to the uniquely fucked up way music licensing works, it's likely they license the lyrics through a separate company than the music and probably don't even directly license it themselves (Tidal for example uses Musicmatch's lyric library and api). There's a cost associated with this that is likely outside their control. It's shitty, but it is plalusibly reasonable they implemented this as a cost savings measure.

Ptsf , to Privacy in Hacker Accesses Internal ‘Tile’ Tool That Provides Location Data to Cops

Yeah. Imo their one hope was to make trackers that leverage both networks, as a sort of middle ground device for like a family with 1 android and 1 iPhone. Without that pivot they've seemed dead since the airtag launch.

Ptsf , to Programmer Humor in What the heck is a god dang cloud?

I'm also not sure where they got their idea that cloud is cheaper from. On prem has always been cheaper, I've had to walk through fire and flames to get my company to approve cloud hosting as we simply do not have the capacity to be our own mail host. Goodluck explaining tech debt to upper management though, it's like they're allergic to the idea of understanding it.

Ptsf , to Technology in Banana Pi BPI-F3: Single-board computer and RISV-V alternative to the Raspberry Pi now available

Printed circuit board.

Ptsf , to Technology in A Staggering 19x Energy Jump in Capacitors May Be the Beginning of the End for Batteries

Although we don't see it, all of these developments do actually eventually make their way into battery tech. The batteries of today are not the batteries of 2014.

Ptsf , to Selfhosted in Self-hosted Jellyfin CPU or GPU for 4K HDR transcoding?

Encoding engine basically requires it, so you'd need to implement a hack or something. https://www.reddit.com/r/IntelArc/comments/189cgsm/intel_arc_h265_encoding_performance_and_resizable/

Ptsf , to science in New Class of Antibiotics Proves Potent Against Multi-Drug Resistant Bacteria

Goodluck with that.

Ptsf , to Linux in Linux for Kids?

I would highly highly highly recommend a atomic distro. It's going to be a much nicer sandbox for someone starting out, regardless of age.

Ptsf , to Technology in China launches world’s largest electric container ship with 50 MWh battery

China is a massive economy and country with some of the most advanced manufacturering and tooling in the entire world. Yes, it could be shoddy, but it's in a ship and is going to be far more regoriously scrutinized by their regulatory bodies than a normal stationary battery would be. I understand the plausiblity of your comment, but it seems to be rooted in prejudice or extreme ignorance.

Ptsf , to Technology in China launches world’s largest electric container ship with 50 MWh battery

These batteries are likely far more complex in packaging, design, and thermal management that any consumer electronic cell. They'll likely "fail safely" if/when they do fail.

Ptsf , to Technology in Google layoffs hit Python and Flutter teams

They'll just buy the entire startups back using their mountain of accumulated wealth and the cycle will repeat.

Ptsf , to Streetwear in [NEWS] Kanye West's newest "Fuck Adidas (for dropping my partnership after I said I love Hitler)" merch drop is a collab with Russian child predator / cancelled designer Gosha Rubchinskiy

He'll probably sell thousands of them, which makes it even sadder.
