I can make my left scapula pop/click by moving my scapulas closer together. I read on a medical website that it’s actually an ailment that can be remedied by surgery. I don’t really want surgery. I’m right handed, so it doesn’t affect me too much. Apparently, I’m the only one in my family with this issue and it’s supposedly a genetic issue.

ParabolicMotion ,

I once saw a car accident on a freeway that involved burning bodies within the cab of the vehicle. Nothing I’ve seen online compares to that. Maybe I’ve just avoided the worst of the worst online, but nothing has been that graphic.

ParabolicMotion ,

I can’t post about it without the usual crowd stalking my account to downvote me, or urging the mods to remove it all, so they can help conceal child abuse. If anyone cares, it involved an eight year old me, being forced to help dig a hole and bury an older female relative to help conceal a murder. A local gang wants to prevent me from snitching, because other women started using her identity, since there wasn’t a death certificate. Having law enforcement dig her up would ruin their comfortable lifestyles, since they have used her identity to make money. Another group financially benefited when they married one of those women. Unearthing the body and having it identified would put a lot of people in their 40’s in jail over fraud that is connected to the case. So, I’m supposed to shut up about it.

ParabolicMotion ,

As someone who is white, but 0% German, I wonder how things would be if I traveled to Germany and spent some time living in that country. I read another article on Lemmy that said Germans were in a bar, chanting “Germany for the Germans. Foreigners out.” I’ve been called “Nazi” plenty of times on Lemmy because people have disagreed with my views on things like the war in Gaza. I wonder if Germans would think I was just another German there, or if they’d want me to leave.

ParabolicMotion ,

Yet I see people wearing long sleeves and long pants in the photos provided by the article, and other similar articles. No offense, but when it has been that hot, in the past, where I live, everyone wears short sleeves and shorts. Some people wear less than that. Most people are already in the local pools.

ParabolicMotion ,

Oh, if that’s what you think, I wish you could live every single one of my past experiences . There are news articles about women’s rights being tread upon in Mexico. If someone like me is raped by her distant relative, who also happens to be white, the rest of the family will label her up as crazy, take the child and hide it so it can’t be dna tested, and then try to make the mother homeless and jobless for the rest of her life. Yeah, I’m so privileged I’ve been told I can’t have dna taken on my son to prove a distant cousin raped me because both the distant cousin and I are white. Welcome to my privileged life. All I wanted was to add my son to ancestry.com.

ParabolicMotion ,

No, I think I understood you very well. There is a lot of sexism in Mexico, and you’re suggesting the women stayed covered for that reason, am I right? Is there another reason you aren’t being direct with what you implied in your previous comment? If so, feel free to be direct.

ParabolicMotion ,

So they adorned Hitler mustaches, as the article claims, but chanted “foreigners out” and “Germany for the Germans?” That doesn’t make sense when you really think about it. Hitler was a foreigner from Austria.

Putin has ‘both eyes’ on Gotland, warns Sweden’s army chief ( www.politico.eu )

After being demilitarized in 2005, Sweden re-introduced permanent troops to Gotland in 2016, following Russia’s annexation of Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula in 2014. Sweden also became NATO’s newest member in March — meaning it is covered by the alliance's Article 5 guarantee that all other members come to each other's...

You know, he always seems to eye all these places that look so peaceful. Can he eye the parts of Mexico that are riddled with violent cartels? Here is how I view it: Everyone wants their own a private toll road in the middle of a scenic tourist destination, no one wants to adopt a busy, littered, highway in the middle of Los Angeles. Let’s see “mother Russia” try to “mother” that fiasco.

ParabolicMotion ,

It’s starting to look like Blackhawk Down. The aid vehicles are being attacked.

ParabolicMotion ,

I think the ICC is handling it better. There are two groups in that area that want to murder people, and there are now warrants issued for their arrest. I just don’t think America should have become directly involved.

Building a pier and trying to send in aid is a nice gesture, but Palestinians are killing each other for those boxes of food, and Israelis are attacking aid vehicles. It’s starting to look like Blackhawk Down.

Biden backed Israel by giving them weapons because Hamas had taken so many Israelis hostage. If he had picked the other side when news of the hostages began to spread, society would have been calling him a Nazi.

Both sides in this war want to kill each other. There are children in both sides of these groups that are suffering. How can anyone pick a side and hope that they kill the other side? It’s inhumane. Let the terrorists be arrested.

Okay…but could Vatican City help the situation by opening its doors to Migrants from Mexico? Are they able to house them, provide them food and water, provide them medical care, provide them child care and education for their unvaccinated children, and promise them jobs to sustain themselves long-term? Can they justify raising the taxes on the working class of their own people to pay for these migrants? They’ll probably need to raise taxes on big businesses. This will probably result in big business raising their prices to recoup their losses from paying higher taxes. They probably won’t be able to take it out of other areas, because minimum wage is always increasing as cost of production often increases, too, for most companies. Then those companies will be selling overpriced products to the inhabitants of that country, with people about to riot over how expensive everything has become; especially food, for example. Some might say it’s not that big of a deal, but the money to support a new, huge, group of people has to come from somewhere. Does Italy have the money to fund all of that?

Some of our nation’s homeless might have better treatment if they crossed the border to Mexico and then turned around, and crossed it again, as a migrant.

Instead of encouraging so many people to run from a country that can’t protect its people, or provide for them, why can’t other nations take a stand against that country’s government and intervene? It’s going to cause civil unrest to push a huge group of people from one country into another, where the language and culture are different. Avoid all of that, have America, and other nations intervene to improve Mexico so people won’t be risking their lives to cross the border, and causing mass outrage here, in America.

ParabolicMotion ,

I’m actually a democrat. I would just like to see solutions presented in political discussion rather than constant criticism. It leads nowhere to just turn the spotlight on those who want to give their criticisms. I want solutions. The same problems from migrants, to Gaza, have been floating around the political toilet bowl for decades and every so often someone famous throws in their two cents and receives a pat on the back for criticizing the way things are. Yes, things are bad. Now less talk, more action. Fix it.

ParabolicMotion ,

So when the Red Cross creates shelters for hurricane victims in the Southern and Eastern States, do you call them traffickers, and fascists? Sometimes people deserve to have a safer option on where they live.

Also, cussing out an internet stranger and calling her a fascist makes you look unstable.

ParabolicMotion ,

No, that isn’t my solution. I never said they would be shipped. They aren’t being shipped to America. They have seen an opportunity and have migrated here themselves. If Italy offered an opportunity, then they would probably migrate there, as well. They wouldn’t dare stow away on a boat to mainland China and demand that their country care for them, and provide for them. Many countries have laws against illegal immigration. America does, too, but no one respects the laws in America. Everyone picks and chooses which laws they want to demand be enforced and they want herd immunity for the ones they break. Migrants could cross the border with a passport and ask for asylum. That wouldn’t be illegal immigration.

ParabolicMotion ,

Hey, look an unhinged Lemmy reader who is taking his anger out on me for having an opinion. If you treat people like this when you aren’t hiding behind a screen, I hope someone uses screenshots of your responses to help you find the anger management you seem to need.

I happen to know quite a bit about asylum seeking. I have sought asylum in Ireland in the past. Doing so required a passport. It also requires being fingerprinted because you ARE technically breaking the law. You’re required to overstay your passport limits while the application is being processed. I am guessing you have never applied for asylum in a foreign country.

When Americans are upset over UNDOCUMENTED migrants, they are referring to people who are crossing the border illegally, without a passport. Entering the United States as a non-citizen, without a passport IS a crime.

My apologies for making a typo, but if that typo bothers you, how are you going to handle a group of migrants who can’t write the English language? You don’t seem like a patient and understanding person. I hope these migrants aren’t forced to take up residence near you.

ParabolicMotion ,

I try to find things to do that are productive and help those who are hyper focused on the present due to their situation. Give blood. Volunteer. If that’s not something that interests you, find some courses to take, or some quick certification courses to take that align with your interests. You’ll never regret filling your spare time by helping others or learning a new skill.

ParabolicMotion ,

I totally understand what you mean about global warming. Well said!

ParabolicMotion OP ,

Thank you. He is due to have his teeth extracted in July. He has round two of amoxicillin next month, after another appointment with the veterinarian.

ParabolicMotion OP ,

Thank you! I was so worried he wouldn’t make it through the infection. I thought it was going to be much worse, after I first realized he was attacked by something. I’m surprised, and glad, to see how fast his face healed. He isn’t completely healed yet. His jaw bone is still heavily infected, and teeth need to be removed. It’s going to be a long summer.

ParabolicMotion ,

I’m sure you’ll be asking your first responder this question while he or she is in the middle of performing CPR on you, and calling for an AED, right? You’re not regretting the discovery of 30-2, are you?

ParabolicMotion ,

I don’t think I misunderstood. You see dropping dead as your prize for losing in some type of social Darwin competition. You don’t see medical advances and life saving measures as being part of our evolution, as a species, to better survive? No offense, but regardless of how you feel about being resuscitated, some paramedic, or other first responder is still going to try to save your life. They can’t exactly stop the process and ask you for your opinion if you have no pulse, dude.

ParabolicMotion ,

First of all, it isn’t “bro”. Secondly, I’m trying to make a point that valuing the mental capabilities of people is worth mentioning, when the OP seems to dwell on the physical worth of a human. Part of the evolutionary process is long-term problem solving skills, isn’t it? We create ways to resuscitate people, cures for diseases, and solutions for other medical problems. OP insists that gives us weaker people that continue living in our society? Weaker in what regard? If all cancer is suddenly cured, then which people are weaker? I knew a girl that had an intellectual disability, but was fairly physically fit. She could run well, and walked and talked as well as most people. Would you want to encourage her to have children, while discouraging some woman with breast cancer from having children?

I think I understood OP fairly well. I just question if he wants to limit procreation amongst the disabled. Remember that Hitler wanted to do that.

ParabolicMotion ,

Yeah, I guess college biology textbooks and Charles Darwin’s origin of species weren’t enough for me. I shouldn’t try to stop OP’s hint at arguing against letting people with physical disabilities breed.

ParabolicMotion ,

This part made me think OP was implying that they shouldn’t breed if they have a physical ailment, or disability:

One of those Harry Potter jelly beans that tastes like snot.

ParabolicMotion ,

Ugh, don’t call her MTG. That means Magic the Gathering to me and I like that game. 😞

ParabolicMotion ,

I don’t eat chips that often but it’s a tie between these All Dressed Ruffles I’ve had in America and the Tatos in Ireland.
Apparently, the All Dressed is really popular in Canada.

ParabolicMotion ,

Really? They have been on the shelves in California for years. Most grocery stores have them. They’re really good!

ParabolicMotion ,

I think you can order them at Walmart.com. They are tough to find in stock in some stores. They are worth trying if you’ve never had them. Just fair warning, they are super addictive, and they aren’t that healthy.

One of these. Tell him to wrap it around the polar ice caps, with the reflective side facing the sun, before it’s too late.

ParabolicMotion ,

Since my husband vanished and apparently left his ID to his friends, I guess I should just tell everyone that my life flipped a d_ck. I could say it made a u-turn, but it sounds too much like the slogan on the sign of a local church. It was down the street from the church we used to attend together. Maybe their “God allows u-turns” sign was just their congregation’s way of telling me to flip a d_ck before it was too late.

When you go through the divorce process sometimes you flip a house, sometimes you flip a car, …and sometimes, well, you know…

ParabolicMotion ,

Well, apparently the word never meant anything bad when it was originally put to that phrase, but now I have to edit it out because it means something else these days.

Trust me, I would have rather been in the business of flipping ducks, as some kind of duck farmer, than feeling like Book of Job and losing everything after my husband flipped his life and everything he owned to his friends.

ParabolicMotion , (edited )

You think that’s bad? The sheriff’s office in my county will pull you over on the freeway, make you park on a side street after instructing you to exit the freeway, ask you to step out of your vehicle, and then tell you that you’re going to a different location to be strip searched even though you aren’t wanted for a crime and are not in the process of having committed a crime. They can literally pull over anyone they choose, say that someone was just concerned (usually they’ll name a family member that hasn’t even contacted them) and then proceed to tell you that they need to strip search you. This happened to me in 2017. I returned to ask for a copy of the report, and my ex boyfriend opened the door to the records department. That’s right. This unscrupulous place hired my bitter ex-boyfriend.

This is not the ex that I dated for 3.5 years and planned to marry/discussed a wedding and a family together. This was the ex boyfriend that I dated briefly during high school, with whom I NEVER had sex. An ex boyfriend that had never seen me naked. There are pictures of us together at formal dances between 2005 and 2006, with the exception of prom. Why not prom? He had a mental breakdown the day of prom, and began cussing about all women ruining his life like his mother. All of this happened because he COULDN’T AFFORD PAINTBALL SUPPLIES. Yep. Paintball supplies. My family heard him cuss me out through the phone because he couldn’t afford paintball supplies for his extracurricular activities. This is also the ex who said he wanted to shoot his exes, and told me this while we were together. He later tried to backpedal and say he was just talking about paintball.

This video looks bad, but it is nowhere near as bad as what the local sheriff’s department did to me years ago. Oh, and why did he wait until then? He took that long to realize I had changed my last name, apparently, after getting married. He must have realized I had two children, as well. All I can imagine is that someone was jealous. I can’t even file a report about what he did because he was wearing a different man’s name badge (first name only) when he answered the door of the records’ department. He smiled as he handed the record over to me. It wasn’t a friendly smile either. We aren’t even related where someone can try to justify this strange attachment and behavior he has towards me after such a short relationship. The guy is mentally insane. Law enforcement hired a mentally insane guy to work in their facility.

ParabolicMotion ,

I tried to hire a lawyer when it happened. I called a law firm that same day. I don’t have the money to fight it. Also, how do you fight it without money and a lawyer? File a report with local law enforcement? That isn’t going to work. I actually filed a report online with the FBI office over corruption amongst local law enforcement. I doubt anyone will care. Then again, my dad’s cousin was former president Jimmy Carter. If he had been any closer of a relative our family would probably already be in some federal protection program meant to shield families of politicians from harm. But nope. I’m just some poor distant cousin of someone who mattered, so I don’t matter. It’s sad that things like these events can happen to women in America, or anyone, and no one cares unless they’re someone “important”.

ParabolicMotion OP ,

Hahaha! To be honest, I was waiting for something like that, and she just sat there, with that look on her face

ParabolicMotion OP ,

I can’t tell if it means she’s pleased with me, or upset.

ParabolicMotion OP ,

Really? What is churu, and where can a person buy it? Is it made specifically for cats?

ParabolicMotion OP ,

I’ll have to look for that. It looks like something he would eat. Thanks for the info!

ParabolicMotion OP ,

Ouch! I hope he is feeling better! Did the veterinarian need to do a second surgery to remove the pins?

ParabolicMotion OP ,

How traumatic for him! He sure is cute! I hope he makes a fast recovery!

ParabolicMotion ,

“Starting with schools”. Some school age boys will probably develop some type of severe male guilt due to this, while some will probably make fun of the attempts to educate against violence towards women.
