Sometimes on Lemmy these seem like the only jobs that actually exist, but I'm sure there's a lot of people here with different and unusual lines of work.
It's no secret that people with adhd often have sleep issues. I certainly do. I'm curious what bedtime routine helps others sleep. My partner likes to read a boring book before bed, but I struggle to read books unless they are engaging. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
Hmm, yes, I think I see how that could happen. Anytime I'm stressed out that happens. And right now, I'm not stressed out, just messed uo my sleep schedule a bit, doing a less drastic version of that.
Sometimes I actively decide not to do certain stuff at night bcz I don't know when to quit and go to sleep. It ends up making me tired during the day bcz I don't go to bed on time.
Always appreciate someone who doesn't have adhd coming in and giving advice like they have it all figured out. You might as well just say, have you tried not having adhd?
Living through trauma isn't really a super power. And I wouldn't wish what happened to me on anyone. In fact, I don't usually share what happened to me with anyone but my therapist and my wife.
I don't feel that way about ffVVI at all. The story was fantastic. My only complaint was that some of the fights just felt like the eikons were damage sponges.
I thought the fighting was really fun in ff16. I'm not familiar with DMC though. All a matter of taste I suppose. Second point is fair, I happen to own a ps5, so I was able to play it right away, didn't even realize it was an exclusive.
As I've gotten older as a player, I have found myself dropping some eras of gaming that I used to be nostalgic for. One of them is the 8-bit era, the NES days. I have played some of the best that system had to offer and I will never say that system didn't have any good games....
I was a bit young when nes, and snes came out. I am still quiet fond of super mario world 2. But my favorite consoles, hands down are N64, PS1, and PS2. They were really just figuring out open world gaming back then, and they hadn't yet figured our how to make every game constantly online, and/or gaming as a service.
I will say though, a lot of the old games I used to love don't hold up as well playing them as an adult. They are either super hard, or have weird camera and controls, especially 007 GoldenEye for N64.
Another one that turned out to be tedious and hard is Zelda Ocarina of Time, which really surprised me. I thought the game was the greatest game ever as a kid.
It had a few niche communities I would occasionally post to after the Reddit exodus but a couple months later I would post there and get no responses or votes. Going to lemmy.film now gives me an error message. Did they decide to shut it down or combine with another instance similar to FMHY? I am curious if they gave some kind...
I'm fine not having this conversation anymore. I just gave a perspective from an engineer. No need to continue shitting on me. I'm not even defending the practice.
