The Japanese town of Fujikawaguchiko has erected a giant black net to block views of Mount Fuji, a reaction to the town’s huge popularity on Instagram and other social media platforms....
Fujikawaguchiko is just the official name, most refer to it as Kawaguchiko (this is the main train station there).
Not that unusual in English either, e.g. Commonwealth of Massachusetts, State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Stratford-upon-Avon.
While certainly not the majority, feature phones (known as garakei) enjoy a cult following in Japan.
Bear in mind that feature phones in Japan were a literal decade ahead of smartphones in terms of features. They already had features such as GPS, email, internet browsers latest 90s and early 2000s.

Microsoft is trying to restore Bing as the default search engine on users' browsers by spinning it as a "repair" through a utility app called PC Manager....
Been a while since I experienced malware, but they typically forcibly change your browser's default search engine to a shady one with more malware, even after you try to change it to something else. Even for somewhat tech savvy users, this can be somewhat difficult to overcome.
Sounds like Microsoft is somehow overriding this with Bing.
This only applies to discount brokers, all of which are licensed, regulated brokers.
You do, in fact, “own” the stocks you buy.
The internal plumbing of securities clearing, settlement, and registration is not a concern to retail investors.
Stop buying into juvenile conspiracies.
And if for some reason you are still not satisfied, you can always opt for a "full service" broker or ask to register the shares in your name, both of which are much more expensive.
People talk a lot about single payer healthcare, but some legal scholars propose a single payer judicial system. I.e. private lawyers are banned, and everyone must use publicly funded lawyers.
This would make prosecution accessible to the masses, and successfully defending not related to how much money you have.
Drag Queen Amanda Tori Meating has talked about her day job as a minimum wage Onlyfans writer. There's an entire industry involving talent agencies representing low wage gig workers that pretend to be the model you're paying $X per month to interact with.
My old $200 Motorola G9 Power phone lasted almost 4 years with only very minor scratches. Obviously in that period I have dropped it a few times getting out of the car, where the phone sometimes work itself out of my pant pocket while I drive, and then it slips out when I get out of the car. But no problem on my previous phones,...
The Galaxy S5 had flagship specs, SD card slot, 3.5mm jack, IP67 water resistance, and a removable battery via a durable polycarbonate (plastic) back cover, back in 2014, a whole decade ago.
It was roasted by reviewers for being made out of "non premium" materials.
When you become disillusioned with being a corporate slave, and decide with the help of your grandfather's inheritance to exploit the natural resources of a tiny remote community, enslave a native race of spirit animals, stalk the locals and bribe them with gifts, push out an international competitor under the guise producing local "artisanal" goods, all for the purpose of expanding your huge vertically integrated agri business empire
As a kid I imagined the future as being able to hold a TV in your pocket, and flying skateboards. For the latter I guess electric scooters will have to do
No? Searching for "digital picture frame" brings up pages of results. These are popular enough because they are much cheaper than an equivalently sized tablet, e.g. a 10 inch digital picture frame details for around $150, which is less than half the price of a crappy android tablet.
Also, tablets don't really exceed 12 inches or so in size, but you can get digital picture frames as large as TVs.

Hong Kong not having enough land to build is a myth. Less than 30% of its land is developed, and no, mountainous terrain is not an excuse when the Peak Tram allows access to literal mansions on the sides of Victoria Peak.
Instead, analysts point to other factors such as the vested interest the Hong Kong government has in keeping land (and therefore house) prices high for revenue purposes (due to it's infamous lack of taxes), political corruption, financing infrastructure, and other political factors.
If you've ever walked around Hong Kong, you'll notice that despite all the public transit and pedestrian footpaths, it is incredibly carbrained (or rather, rich brained). Highways and flyovers randomly carve up the city funnel endless cars which legally do not have to give way to pedestrians, and the pedestrian walkways are all developed by real estate developers, which force you to walk through an IKEA maze like mall every time you wish to go anywhere.
Hopping off the airport express onto Kowloon station and want to transfer to a bus? Better to take a taxi, unless you wish to brave the dingy bus station which looks more like a truck loading zone.
