Apparently this happened during the Siege of Weinsberg, and the king in question was indeed Conrad III. I must admit not really knowing much (if anything) about the guy but it seems he must have had at least one decent bone in his body, judging by the outcome.
My main issue, as far as I can remember, was that it tried a BIT too hard to beat LotR in terms of drama and excitement when the original is clearly far less grandiose, but yes, the casting was definitely very solid, just like the first trilogy.
Yeah, that’s what I though of as well, but I don’t blame the other guy for not being able to picture something like that because honestly, when was the last time you’ve seen one of those?
In the west, they’re all electronic and have been electric since long before I was born. Occasionally, some people might have one of those old school door knockers, you know, some heavy bronze thingie mounted to the door that you can make a bit of a ruckus with.
But actual bells? Maybe in 3rd world countries you’ll see one every now and then but they’re exceedingly rare these day.
And while I do recall that one definitely being far less popular than LotR when it was released, I think it was mainly due to taking too much liberty with the source material in order to make a little book less than half the size of a single volume of the other last for a whole trilogy, I don’t really think it deserved THAT much hate.
Legend has it they needed an extra casket just for his balls when they buried him, and it required twice the number of pallbearers his actual body did.
getting a cold isnt going to turn you into a botnet or steal your banking information or encrypt your house and hold it for ransom.
Actually, yes, it kinda is. If you catch a virus, it basically uses your body as a host to produce more of itself to send out and infect others with, just like a botnet. And I'm no medical expert but I'm sure you could find a similar equivalency for the other example. There's a reason the term "virus" was adopted into computer science, because certain software can exhibit much of the same behavior as the real life thing. It's just art imitating life, that's all.
If you want a bodily example, Its like wearing a condom when you have random sex with strangers. Unless you are looking to catch something horrific, you use protection, every time, all the time.
Even then you might end up choosing not to use one, if you do end up meeting that special someone and get them tested for STIs.
IDK, it's kinda like being a germaphobe and avoiding the general public because they're unwashed and filthy, but still allowing certain people to visit you once you've assured yourself they practice regular hygiene, no?
