I wonder if they mean like what was originally referred to as "the end." Before the actual biome with a boss, that's what it was called when you hit the absolute limits of world generation where the land would just break down into utter nonsense of random blocks.

I wish this was a thing... All the shirts I've gotten in the last few years have been $40-50 and have the brand's logo on the back near the neckline (they also came with stickers that are advertising the brand). I would usually only spend $5-10 for a shirt, but these are limited prints and most of them are on really good, comfortable shirts. Just look how cool my newest one is:

Saturday is when the schools around here typically have detention. I'll just email the school and have the kid go to detention. Then on Sunday: Sunday school at a church.

I ask real people on social media what they think. Sure, there may not be a niche community for every little thing on Lemmy; but there's also not the same level of rules limiting what can be posted where so I could make a post asking everyone what they recommend for whatever in NoStupidQuestions or AskLemmy or whatever and still reach a respectable number of people who could give a response. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Do old phones just sound better?

So I've been messing around with a few phones lately, a nexus 6p, a pixel 3a xl, and a s21 ultra, and I've noticed that on the 6p and 3a xl both sound louder, punchier, and clearer when compared to the s21 ultra. They also both have that thicc notch design with a massive speakerphone which might add to the high volume levels.

I haven't. If anything they keep sounding better. The only phone of the past I remember that didn't sound like garbage was a Sony Ericsson that was designed as a media player first with a phone shoehorned into it. When I actually turn my pixel 8 to the side for a video, it sounds as good as my headphones with noise cancellation off. Though I also have all the adaptive sound shaping stuff on and setup the equalizer. It might not sound as good with all that shit turned off (which is the default).

I dont know about others, but sometimes I am not able to check my phone, or be fully present in a conversation that I'm part of. Maybe I'm concentrating on work, or driving, and not able to look. I feel like it already works that way... I'll get 1 notification a day, despite there being constant banter going on in the chat even though I want it to notify me of every individual message.

I wouldn't even be surprised if it just works in the opposite way you want it to on purpose.

As per item 2: If the enemy was using them as hostages I sure as shit wouldn't just bomb the building and kill everyone. I'd prefer to use special forces to go in on foot and secure the building with minimal casualties. And only when diplomacy fails.

The enemy was using them as shields because they didn't think you'd be that fucking stupid to just bomb everyone; they assumed you had some empathy.

I just use informed delivery. It even can do something you couldn't just DIY: it tells me what's coming before it even arrives. Does it just tell you when you have mail?

As I've gained more and more close friends, more than I've ever had in my life, and some closer than I've ever had in my life, I've come to realize something recently. Despite the prevailing feeling like I want a relationship, I don't actually know why it is I want one, nor what I have to gain from one....

I'm aromantic so I have pretty clear reasons why I want a relationship.

  • A partner in crime so to speak; someone who has my back always. Morally, emotionally, physically, etc. I can't do everything on my own and having a person who is always available and willing to help close to me is important.

I think in this example it could go either way, depending on who is viewing it.

Regular people would say he's famous.

People running streaming platforms and other big corpos (especially Tim Sweeny) might say he's infamous.
