Tesla is recalling its Cybertruck for the fourth time to fix problems with trim pieces that can come loose and front windshield wipers that can fail | The new recalls each affect over 11,000 trucks ( apnews.com )

The company says in the documents that the front windshield wiper motor controller can stop working because it’s getting too much electrical current. A wiper that fails can cut visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. The Austin, Texas, company says it knows of no crashes or injuries caused by the problem....

Reviews seem to be saying it drives exceptionally well

I'm guessing here, but did 100% of these reviews come from a country with some of the worst fucking drivers on the entire planet?

Because they're dark they need direct lighting, with a blue tint preferably

Your two best options are either lighting from underneath, or from concentrated spotlights from above and away from them. So spotlights with narrow beams, on the ceiling above but a metre or so away from the shelf

Rather than remove this content, I want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it, and spark a conversation to create a more inclusive future together.

Hugh_Jeggs ,

Re the disclaimer - This might be an old meme, but it's still very light-hearted and can be interpreted in a few different ways.

If either a man or a woman finds this offensive, they are doing so entirely for personal attention and I'd rather "spark a conversation" with a brain-damaged goat than with boring cunts like that 😂

Hugh_Jeggs ,

Sorry old bean, I fell asleep halfway through your comment

Sorry I've just spotted a goat over there that's in the middle of having a stroke

Yep, totally understand that, not your fault at all; it's the fault of the boring twats with no personality of their own that are determined to be offended on other people's behalf on a daily basis

Isn't 0.4% of a gigantic city's budget for just library services really fuckin expensive?

Do they mean that their budget's been cut by 50+ million?

Hugh_Jeggs , (edited )

I was talking about the actual figures, which I couldn't find. Did they have their budget cut by 50+ million?

I did a quick search and the library service in England costs 840 million per year for an entire country.

Just wondering what the budget is for a city like that, and why

Edit - apparently there are around 3500 libraries in England, and the budget is twice that of New York, who have approximately 250 libraries

Dunno what people aren't understanding what I'm asking here 😂

Hugh_Jeggs , (edited )

Bloody hell are you a politician?! 😂 I've asked two simple questions about the post you shared and your response is a) downvote then b) dodge the question

No idea why people post YT videos instead of articles. Brad McChad here waffling for seven minutes to supply enough information for a 30 second paragraph -

AI summary -

Tech reviewer Brad discusses the mass migration of artists from Instagram to the new social network Cara. With over half a million new users in just a few days, Cara offers artists protection for their work from being used in AI models and community-vouched portfolio accounts that filter out AI art. Instagram, on the other hand, has been losing favor due to decreased algorithm traction, drops in followers and engagement, and a focus on viral content. The final straw came when Instagram started allowing users to opt out of their AI training models, leaving artists feeling disregarded. Cara, self-funded by its creator Jinga Zang, provides a refreshing alternative to Instagram, with potential to operate as a normal business without investor pressure. The controversy surrounding Meta (formerly Facebook) and its AI models, which led to a mass exodus of artists, was also discussed, with concerns over users' ability to opt out of having their work used in these models. Despite the challenges Cara faces as a new social network, the speaker expresses support for the platform and encourages viewers to check it out.

Does the USA have any open market cellular options that are legitimate pay-as-you-go and only for what you use options like Europe yet?

I've lived under a rock for 10 years. I did Metro ages ago while most were still on contracts. Surely we've reached true capitalist open market freedom by now. Is it still total closed market, noncompetitive, privateering corruption?

What song should I play for my bathroom neighbors?

The work bathroom is currently a warzone, on their phone speakers people like to play music, play games at full blast, and one guy likes to chill to ambient rainforest. What song can I play to passive aggressively make it known that I don't want to listen to their tik tok feeds while I work out my demons?
