WW3 always around the corner? Sounds like Cold War 2 to me. But like you said, if it isn't, then it doesn't matter. It'll be over before we know it began.
I'm super introverted but like socializing. It just takes a lot of energy. So only one party a week, and I'm probably going to leave early. The fewer the people the longer I can go though. Like camping a whole weekend with a few other people is fun. But alone time is a core need.
I have been watching magnet fishing and people love to toss stuff over bridges without a second thought on the environmental impact. Hiding evidence I can almost understand but not lawnmowers, car batteries, etc....
Since they're light weight, they don't need the heavy rail for freight trains that put >25 tons per axle. It would be incredibly easy to make little switching stations that could pass, turn, and store these pods. Having mini train infrastructure like that everywhere would complete my autism. Life would be complete and I could die happy in a monorail pod crash.
They will, they will make hundreds, maybe thousands of arrests knowing full well its unconstitutional. But it'll take a year or two to work through courts at which point the courts will be completely controlled by Project 2025 magats.
Oh, its far worse than that. None of that needs to happen. Mass surveillance will just track people anywhere they go and police will apprehend them when they have to sleep. The UK already has one of the largest surveillance networks of any country.
It's strange but listening again to music from about 20 years ago, during a time when I was mostly sad and depressed, and where the musical choices reflected that, gives me a weird sense of nostalgia and longing for that time....
My dedicated AI machine uses 1866mhz DDR3. Consumers don't know what they need and will buy whatever the latest new thing is. Smart phones are so dumb. Like wow, your brand new $2500 phone has a benchmark 4x faster than my refurbished $250 phone. Now tell me what you do with all that power. "...well I save 27ms per Instagram post which adds up with how much I use it". I want to run headfirst into a brick wall.
Well, yeah, bit it would still likely help gain some nutrition from something that would otherwise pass clean through you. Our poops would look more like horse turds than cow pies. Just dense barely digested grass.
Epic Games bought Bandcamp in March 2022 for $273 million
[Bandcamp co-founder Ethan] Diamond was not aware of Epic’s plan to sell Bandcamp to Songtradr until as soon as the night before the deal was announced.
During the weeks that followed, Bandcamp’s union, which represented about half of the company at the time, called on Songtradr to voluntarily recognize the union while it also negotiated with Epic over how the layoffs to union members would be handled. For example, the game publisher said that no employee who received an offer from Songtradr would remain eligible for Epic’s severance package.
The two companies agreed to an “asset sale” of Bandcamp rather than a “stock sale.” This meant that Songtradr was only acquiring the technology and platform, rather than the company as a whole, including its staff.
“Of those laid off, 40 were in the union bargaining unit out of a total 67 members,” it wrote. “None of the eight (8) democratically elected bargaining team members received a job offer..."
They aren't trying to have a conversation, they're trying to convince themselves that the things they don't understand are bad and they're making the right choice by not using it. They'll be the boomers that needed millennials to send emails for them. Been through that so I just pretend I don't understand AI. I feel bad for the zoomers and genas that will be running AI and futilely trying to explain how easy it is. Its been a solid 150 years of extremely rapid invention and innovation of disruptive technology. But THIS is the one that actually won't be disruptive.
I've had my morning panic attack about all the things I need to do which means I can relax until my afternoon panic attack about all the things I didn't do.
Below is a look at the most exasperating news from streaming services from this week. The scale of this article demonstrates how fast and frequently disappointing streaming news arises. Coincidentally, as we wrote this article, another price hike was announced....
Where the fuck is this all heading? There isn't any new medium to deliver media to people that will revolutionize content delivery. It's already delivered directly to the device its viewed on. Back to $20 per individual movie like DVDs were before streaming took off? Except 10 more steps away from actual ownership of what you buy?
Glance works to deliver recommendations to users like ads, news articles, and more on the lock screen.
How do I block it?
Glance will side with offering a subscription service where users can pay for "premium news" on their lock screens every month.
Oh, so just don't pay for it, right?
Fortunately, you can disable Glance on the phone, but we found that the service would occasionally produce a full-screen prompt on the lock screen, encouraging you to re-enable the feature.
Oh, so more bloat using resources even when disabled.
Glance will seek to make a profit through the aforementioned subscription and if users interact with its "product of the day."
Its literally just a venture to capture and advertise on every visible space possible.
It looks like I'll be spending 2025 onward with Linux and a flip phone.
It's just that the ethics of consuming meat and animal products can be a delicate conversation, and requires a pretty big change in how one views not only themselves but life as a whole
I was raised vegetarian by a vegan. I'm now a hunter and eat meat almost daily.
