I'm going to university this September. Nearly everybody says "In university they don't try to understand what you've written it is unintelligible." My handwriting is incredibly ugly. I want to improve it by the time I go to uni....
That is the dumbest thing. All of my comp sci stuff was open everything because out in the real world you would never be programming without those resources available. I don't see why IT wouldn't be the same. If they are testing your competency then you should have access to the internet just like you would in a job. If they are testing your memory then they should just use a lockdown browser or something.
When I worked IT, our honeywell rep used to swing by at random and bring the entire building doughnuts. And I'm not talking gas station doughnuts, I'm talking doughnuts from the best bakery in the state (which happened to be local). Perhaps, not surprisingly we used a lot of honeywell stuff. It isn't hard to bribe IT guys.
Honestly, their comercial ones are getting that way too. Like who the hell needs a touchscreen on an industrial thermal printer; thats just one more thing to easily break in an industrial environment. And god forbid you want a replacement touch screen because a new one is half the cost of a new printer.
I have been watching magnet fishing and people love to toss stuff over bridges without a second thought on the environmental impact. Hiding evidence I can almost understand but not lawnmowers, car batteries, etc....
Fun fact, those refrigerents can be (and are required to be) reclaimed and sold to recyclers. Old refrigerants that can no longer be legaly produced are actually worth an absurd amount of money when reclaimed because they can still be used but because they can't legally be manufactured or imported the only source for them is stuff reclaimed out of other systems. Companies will pay absurd amounts of money to not have to refit their refrigeration systems to work with new refrigerants.
So if you have an old appliance still full of something like R-12 or R-22 then you have a gold mine to someone with the right equipment and certifications.
I have a laser level that I'd like to use for lining up pictures on my wall. I'm doing this by myself otherwise I just have someone else hold it. It has a couple holes in it that look like maybe you could use screws or nails and I'd rather not have to put holes in the wall to do this. Any suggestions?
Seriously. I bought some dirt cheap full grain leather biker boots 3 years ago; I have given them exactly 0 care, abused the snot our of them daily, and they are still holding up strong. These weren't even boots meant for working and they still survived trudging through the various slops of all 4 minnesotan seasons for 3 years.
As long as you are buying actual leather and not "genuine leather" then whatever you buy should easily last several years even if not cared for. Well cared for leather goods can last decades.
Some are picky but even those you can almost always train them to eat pre killed. Usually the most you need to do is just warm the rat up and wiggle it with a tongs. Snakes are pretty dumb so that's enough for it to look alive to them. It's a whole lot more convient to have a freezer full or rats than to keep live rats. Not to mention live prey can be dangerous to the snake; it usually isn't but before I finally got my snake to start eating prekilled one of the live rats I fed her gave her a scratch on her eye cap.

This community is always a trip because every time I'm scrolling through all and I see a post like this that is completely relatable there is a 50/50 chance it is from this community. I didn't think I was autistic but y'all are really making me start to wonder.
Well just out of curiosity I took an AQ test and got a 20. While of course that doesn't mean much on it's own I should probably talk to my therapist about being properly tested. Being diagnosed wouldn't really change anything but it certainly would explain some things.
Unless you're just talking about a minisplit or something $5k is remarkably cheap for a full AC install. Theres a big difference between throwing a window unit in and having an actual AC unit installed. You can't just slap a second compressor on an existing condenser. It would need a second condenser or an upgrade and second circuit run for your existing one, plus running refrigerant pipes, likely running new wiring, ventilation, controls, refeigerant costs and system tuning. A window AC unit isn't even in the same ballpark as far as price goes.
You know like the kind that go on a window or bathroom mirror or on the wall or in the shower. They need the atmosphere pushing down on them to work, right?
So I'm planning out a bathroom remodel and part of that is replacing the vent fan because currently mine is just venting into my attic (no bueno). I know normally bathrooms are vented out through the roof but my bathroom is on an exterior wall so I was wondering if I could just vent it out the side of the house. I'm going to be...
Fuck Meta and all but this isn't news. Meta litterally said straight up that they would be doing this before threads ever launched. If you have an instagram account then that is also your threads account. This isn't some conspiracy it's exactly what they told everyone they were doing. It's no diferent than linked accounts for google services.
Self-diagnosis is valid if it helps you
