Too bad it is nVidia only, I only got AMD cards.

Tbh, maybe someone should try making an open-source dating app.

You know what, being a dev myself that's something I'll try as a hobby project. We'll see how it work out.

So does it mean that Russia won't be able to launch missiles from the Black Sea anymore? That may be a godsent to shuffle around air defenses elsewhere.

If only it was bigger... Honestly that the only bad thing I can say about the game, the rest is perfect.

As stated my someone else, it is a fairly mid-sized game. The map is rather small, albeit with various vertical level that stays inaccessible until you catch specific monsters. But all of them lacks variety. You either get grassy plains, scarce forest, automnal forest, forest or water. Oh, and a mountain too.
But once you've got accustomed to the grass/forest part, it gets boring quite fast. I'd really like to get a desert/sand biome, a rocky one, and the likes. And they even have the lore excuse to be lazy with the placement, they don't even have to make it logical.

Supergiant is probably the only studio I'd still buy an early access from, even day one. Even when I end up not liking it that much (like Pyre), it is interesting enough to be worth the asking price.

To this day, Hades is still my most played game on the Switch (I even managed to get a physical copy), and I will probably do the same with Hades II... Maybe on the Switch 2, who knows 😆.

My own experience with Asus warranty was of utter incompetence.

It was a long time ago, around 10 years or so, and I sent a newly acquired laptop for repairs because of constants BSOD. Waited a month before getting it back... Without sound.
Turn out they forgot to reconnect the sound card. I sent it back for repair, waited another month (because even if they are at fault, they won't even fast track that repair), only to get it back with a nonfunctional touchpad.
I don't use it, so I didn't send it back a third time, because who know what would have come back damaged that time.

So their repair woes aren't recent. When their stuff works, it works well, but pray that you won't need to RMA it.

Bosch for a decade, Miele for a lifetime.

My father Miele dishwasher is something like 20 years old, and still kicking with almost no intervention.

From my tests, Intel wifi 7 chip currently do not work with an AMD CPU on Linux. Qualcomm does work with a manual blob pull, but drop under load.

@Dremor@lemmy.world avatar

If I recall well it is the no-vPro ones that works, but currently there is a bug on AMD systems that prevent the BE200 to work. Windows already got a partial fix, but not Linux.

That because the measurements used in web browser, "px", doesn't mean "screen pixels".

According to the W3 website :

"The px unit is defined to be small but visible, and such that a horizontal 1px wide line can be displayed with sharp edges (no anti-aliasing). What is sharp, small and visible depends on the device and the way it is used: do you hold it close to your eyes, like a mobile phone, at arms length, like a computer monitor, or somewhere in between, like an e-book reader? The px is thus not defined as a constant length, but as something that depends on the type of device and its typical use."

So a very high definition smartphone can be seen as being less than 800(px)x600(px), depending on its screen size and aspect ratio, while still being 4k or more.

Because everyone (including most devs, myself included until some month ago) think that px = pixels, which is not.

When he says that the minimum is 800x600, it is most likely talking about px and not pixels.

What am I doing wrong (OpenSuse)?

I've been trying Tumbleweed for my gaming needs and so far it seems to be working relatively well. My issue is about removed packages. When I first installed TW, I removed quite a few packages I did not want (KSudoku, LibreOffice, and a few others). It has been a little since I've turned on my PC but yesterday I noticed that...

You can also change this behavior in libzypp configuration file, if I recall well.

Considering they allow to install application on the bios command (Armory Crate, that kind of shit), consider it already done.

Israel fumes as UN secretary-general leaves Hamas off sexual violence blacklist ( www.timesofisrael.com )

In his report, Guterres referenced Patten’s assessment, but noted that it, “not being investigative in nature and given its limited duration, did not draw conclusions on attribution to specific armed groups or determine prevalence of incidents of conflict-related sexual violence during and after the attacks of 7 October....

It is pretty hard to say what's is true and what isn't in an ongoing conflict. Both side tries to make the other look evil while trying to hide or minimize their own evil deeds.

Dremor ,
@Dremor@lemmy.world avatar

Indeed, but without investigations it is too early to say that it was a lie or if was the truth. Instead of labeling hastily one side allegation as lie, it has to be investigated, and proved as such.

Don't mistake it as defending one side or the other, both side are different faces of a similar evil, but polarizing the debate in such way will just make it harder for moderates and peace advocate to be heard.

Hi fellow Gamers Lemmings.

This thread was bought to our attention as possibly breaking rule 2 (No Bigotry/Harassement).

First, some context. The article comme from a right leaning website, with mixed factuality and medium credibility.
This means the content of this article shouldn't be taken as is and should be complemented from other, more neutral/factual websites.

For now I didn't find this story on any verifiable sources with such requirement.

On the other hand, the comments seem to be a lot more neutral than the OP link, and raise some interesting points. As such, I'll keep this thread, but will keep it under close watch to keep the conversation civil.

Thank you for your understanding.

Dremor, c/games mod.
