As stated in the title, I went to some posts and comments that I had bookmarked for some media that I was trying to download. This was on my lemmy.world account. Turns out they're gone. Doing some digging and found out this community was still up but wasn't visible on lemmy.world. what happend?
Kbin has uncontrolled spam because the administrator, Ernest, likes to go AWOL for months on end and wants to do everything completely by himself. Currently, Kbin.social has been unreachable for 4-5 days - whether that's because something legitimately broke or Ernest pulled the plug on things we don't know because he actually hates communicating with people. He could gain so much more goodwill from the community if he just left a one sentence post saying "I am still alive, I am still updating things, be patient."
Lemmy World sucks because the admins suck, the moderators suck, and the majority of the userbase don't seem to be interested in creating quality content. Most of the people there are only there because their Reddit app doesn't work anymore.
In exchange for selling them repair parts, Samsung requires independent repair shops to give Samsung the name, contact information, phone identifier, and customer complaint details of everyone who gets their phone repaired at these shops, according to a contract obtained by 404 Media. Stunningly, it also requires these nominally...
I learned everything about how to build a PC from buildapc... like 12 years ago. Nowadays it has been infested by idiots who don't know shit but act like they do, and also think more RGB = more better.
I have no idea why it's out there, but I suppose abusing it a bit may help toughen it up enough to ensure you can still have children when an accident happens.
Good on you for reading the mod log. If you look at it at least once every day, you'll realize which communities have good mods and which ones don't, and you'll be able to decide where you want to hang out.
Not sure about apps since I don't use any, but on the website versions of both Lemmy and Kbin instances, there is a link either on the sidebar or at the bottom of the page that says Modlog. It defaults to showing you a global list from all federated instances of all the most recent moderator actions. On Lemmy instances the moderator's names are hidden but on Kbin instances it will always show you Moderator > action taken.
(edit: on Lemmy instances only): There's also a useful search feature at the top which lets you look almost anything up.
It bugs me when people say "the thing is is that" (if you listen for it, you'll start hearing it... or maybe that's something that people only do in my area.) ("What the thing is is that..." is fine. But "the thing is is that..." bugs me.)...
Was this community banned on lemmy.world? I was trying to access some bookmarked posts and comments but they weren't there.

In the mod logs I see posts/comments removed for violating rules. Is there anywhere someone can find these rules?
Is there a list somewhere? Are the rules different per instance?? I see:...
