My sister in law fell for one, it was a passport scam where they claim to get detained and need to pay a fee or they will be deported.

They took their time setting it up over several weeks and it worked. She realised when she was explaining to my missus and asking for more money and I raised the alarm.

It was too late and the money was gone.

Poor woman isn’t lucky in the romance department, or in looks. Im not surprised that she was so thrilled to get attention that she ignored all the red flags.

This is bound to be an unpopular opinion here but I hate vim.

Shortcuts in vim make no sense whatsoever. They’re not the fastest possible shortcuts nor are they intuitive.

Sure it’s got useful features if you let the awful design brow beat you into memorising an absurd number of shortcuts that lack any form of logic.

You could have a cheat sheet on another monitor but at that point why not have an editor that has a gui.

Take a seat in an empty row first

Not in front of someone that looks sketchy

Not immediately behind someone particularly
attractive unless other rows are full (can be creepy)

If you must share a row don’t sit next to the meth head OR the young girl.

Don’t sit towards the rear when there’s a group of troublemakers on the rearmost seats.

Do sit near exits but preferably one row behind others so you’re not the first person noticed by someone sketchy

There’s more but a lot of optimisation, particularly lo safety and social comfort, goes into selecting the best seating and neurotypical people do it completely subconsciously.
