They've had similar pills for like 10-15 years in hospitals. They just take and transmit pictures.

Thoughts on the self promotion rules that many Reddit subs have? ( programming.dev )

Isn't this what upvotes and downvotes are for? Do they only want posts about billionaire mega corporations? 10% is a really strict cutoff for people that make things as a hobby. What else am I gonna post when everything else is already posted instantly? I can't post to r/pcgaming for the same reason....

"social safety net for its Jewish citizens"

Fixed that for you...

Humans run the complete gamut from the good to bad, smart to stupid.

There will ALWAYS be some people ( this includes women) willing to do anything for a chance at money or even to just rub elbows with the rich, powerful, famous

Ever heard of groupies? Wilt Chamberlain supposedly slept with 10k women and has how many kids.

But to answer your question absolutely.

Crashumbc ,

The same as 99% of other extremely wealthy parents, they don't. The nannies and tutors raise the kids or in the case of illegitimate kids, the mothers are given hush money or fight and usually receive large child support checks.

This has been the norm since the middle ages or before. Why are so many people shocked and surprised by this?

That's what confuses me, not that he's doing it, he's a narcissist piece of shit. It is every one in this thread with the surprised Pikachu face.

Amazon Mulls $5 to $10 monthly price tag for unprofitable Alexa service, AI revamp ( www.reuters.com )

Amazon (AMZN.O) is planning a major revamp of its decade-old money-losing Alexa service to include a conversational generative AI with two tiers of service and has considered a monthly fee of around $5 to access the superior version, according to people with direct knowledge of the company's plans.

Crashumbc ,

People are missing the point. This was ALWAYS the plan. Get Alexa in hundreds of thousands of homes and get everyone to used to using it. Than charge money.

Even if only a quarter of the users pay, they'll make a ton of money.

Crashumbc ,

In the US, "most" corporate jobs are two weeks (26 pays).

For a while bi-monthly was popular in some sectors ( 1st and 15th usually)

Monthly happens but it's extremely rare.

South Korea blasts Russia-North Korea deal, says it will consider supplying arms to Ukraine ( apnews.com )

South Korea’s presidential office on Thursday condemned an agreement reached by Russia and North Korea that vowed mutual defense assistance in the event of war and said it will reconsider its policy of limiting its support to Ukraine to non-lethal supplies....

Crashumbc ,

Obviously they want to see SK reintegrated into true Korea(North). :P

I also totally believe a SK citizen is both a pro China and an ML user...

Crashumbc ,

He wanted to drain the swamp of the other guys. NOT his guys.

Putin says Russia and North Korea will help each other if attacked, taking ties to a ‘new level’ ( www.cnn.com )

Vladimir Putin said Russia and North Korea have ramped up ties to a “new level,” pledging to help each other if either nation is attacked in a “breakthrough” new partnership announced during the Russian president’s rare visit to the reclusive state....

Crashumbc ,

NK has bodies, Putin needs soldiers...

NK needs food, supplies, technical knowledge on missile construction and of course nukes.

They can help each other plenty.

Crashumbc ,

The purpose, is to keep it difficult enough that the "honest" person doesn't get the idea to start doing it.

Same concept as putting a lock on your front door. It's not to stop thieves, it's to stop the average person from getting the idea to "just take a quick look".

By occasional going after workarounds AND making it public news. Your average computer user thinks it's not worth the hassle.

Crashumbc ,

You missed when the web KILLED BBSs!!!!

That was the end! We're already dead!!!

Crashumbc ,

Definitely Bibi first no question.

The other two are way more of a toss up.

Crashumbc ,

You don't live here and aren't paying attention then...

Those are exactly the people in control of the Republican party right now and the ones Trump is promising the world to in his bid to get elected. (And become a dictator)

Crashumbc ,

But the Republicans have that power NOW. They don't have complete power, but that doesn't mean they and their policies aren't affecting the US.

Crashumbc ,

Kolnax? Or someone because it's huge and blue

Crashumbc ,

They almost certainly had no idea of ANY details of the ship. Much less who owned it.

Crashumbc ,

From what I read in the article it sounds like he couldn't afford an official replacement. And bought a 3rd party (used?) knock off...

'Becoming a totalitarian state': UK judge on why he quit Hong Kong court ( www.bbc.com )

A high-profile British judge who resigned from Hong Kong’s highest court last week has warned the city is “slowly becoming a totalitarian state” and judges are being compromised by an “impossible political environment created by China”....

Crashumbc ,

From the land of DUH... Everyone knew Hong Kong was dead the moment the chinese took it over. It was just how long the death was going to take...

Crashumbc ,

Pretty sure this has been around since the mid 90s

Some company heads hoped return-to-office mandates would make people quit, survey says ( arstechnica.com )

Nearly two in five (37 percent) managers, directors, and executives believe their organization enacted layoffs in the last year because fewer employees than they expected quit during their RTO. And their beliefs are well-founded: One in four (25 percent) VP and C-suite executives and one in five (18 percent) HR pros admit they...

Crashumbc ,

Other than short term, greed most executives are extremely stupid.

If it makes you feel better, Japanese hate any and all outsiders, especially if you get away from the touristy areas.

Crashumbc ,

Maybe, but a well known one that's been discussed and written about many times over the years.

Crashumbc ,

This is a discussion about how they treat outsiders not how they treat people that spent years becoming part of their society. Also guess which country has one of the toughest immigration policies on earth?

Crashumbc ,

I seem to have touched a nerve. I'll let you sit in your echo chamber and believe what you want. Good day.

Crashumbc ,

Old people become more conservative, the largest generation is now old...

Yup we're fucked.

Crashumbc ,

Maybe your pee isn't! Are you a pee denier?

J/k ( in case needed)

Joke on you, empty things don't count!

A PR disaster: Microsoft has lost trust with its users, and Windows Recall is the straw that broke the camel's back ( www.windowscentral.com )

It's a nightmare scenario for Microsoft. The headlining feature of its new Copilot+ PC initiative, which is supposed to drive millions of PC sales over the next couple of years, is under significant fire for being what many say is a major breach of privacy and security on Windows. That feature in question is Windows Recall, a...

Crashumbc ,

Year of the Linux destktop!

Crashumbc ,

Their IT department also knows the MS isn't going anywhere...

Crashumbc ,

Unfortunately, the old saying "it takes two to start a fight" is complete bullshit. Same goes for war.

All it takes is one person(or country) to want to take something from someone else by force, or even just hate them.

Crashumbc ,

You can't relate to your pick up not starting?

Crashumbc ,

While that is unfortunate, it's still better than the alternative...

Crashumbc ,

Stop listening to Russian propaganda? By and large it didn't exist.

Crashumbc ,

Go hit the bottle again. It absolutely is a defensive move. Them and other countries near Russia were happy not being in NATO until Putin started attacking neighbors... He's made it clear he wants to restore the USSR and its power...

Ukraine's mistake was not moving faster/sooner to join NATO...

Crashumbc ,

Eliminate religion

Crashumbc ,

I doubt it'd go that far, humans like killing each other too much. But at least it would eliminate one source of control.

Crashumbc ,

I much preferred the older versions of WoT them the current version which is more arcade first person shooter like.

I've played a bunch of warships also.
