With efficient cpus and lack of dedicated gpus I doubt the 4W of RAM is really that much of a battery drain.

What? If anything, it'd be more drain relatively speaking.

4W is quite a lot if you consider that a decently efficient laptop should draw 5-8W at idle max.

If you're worried about that, I can recommend a service like Tailscale which does not require permanently open ports to the outside world, offering quite a bit more security than an exposed traditional VPN server.

AFAIK, this is a Windows-specific option which requires the user to have purchased a license for the Windows HEVC decoder on the windows store.

Archive is/ph/today etc. is playing dirty with DNS and actively lying to Cloudflare and some others too I believe. They all do not work.

I had to hard-code their IP address in my hosts file.

What's a good phone now that doesn't force ads on me?

I'm using a Pixel 6 Pro right now, and I'm looking around to see if there are any good phones. However, I have heard that there are ads in the newer flagship phones (Samsung, Xiaomi). I am willing to spend around USD$750 on a new phone, but I just don't want any crazy ads or preinstalled apps like Facebook. Are there phones that...

Why do you feel the need to change phones? Pixel 6 Pro should still be plenty good enough.

If its stock ROM bothers you, you're in luck because Pixels are surprisingly hackable and it's very easy these days.

WDYM by "uncompressed"? A truly uncompressed 4K HDR movie needs about 6Gbit/s of goodput. A 2.5Gbit/s link won't be enough for that.

I see. In future, better refer to this as "ripped blu-rays" or "ripped ISOs" to avoid confusion. "uncompressed" really does mean something entirely different.
