Greeting viewers by name? Not in my fucking house. AI should be a tool to rid humanity of undesirable work. Instead its replacing humanity in every field where humanity is the main event. Why the fuck would I ever want to listen to a fucking robot while I watch the Olympics, or anything for that matter?
Buy dumb TVs. Make your next phone a Pixel and install Graphene OS. Ditch Windows/MacOS for Linux. Use ProtonMail. Run a Pi-Hole on your network. Do anything you can to take control of your digital footprint in any way.
Don't let corporations freely suck your data dry and exploit your life for profit while force feeding you their elaborate fakery. Its impossible to insulate yourself from it all but any step towards digital privacy is the right step to take.
I first joined Lemmy back during the big Reddit exodus of last year. I like many others wanted an alternative to Reddit, and I thought that this might've been the one. I made two accounts, one on lemmy.world and another on sh.itjust.works, in the June of last year that I used on and off for about 4 months....
I just can't fathom how a woman can overpower a man in that manner. Even if a woman is physically stronger than the man. If a man really doesn't want to, how could she even make him erect by force, let alone force it inside her?...
It happens when your girlfriend is extremely unstable by default, even more so after a fight, comes to your parents house drunk in the middle of the night and essentially shames you for trying to reject her advances while simultaneously being physical about it by forcing you down and assuming you're playing some mind game while you try your best to avoid waking your parents in the next room and making a scene cause she's being loud and borderline belligerent. The sheer embarassment is enough for personal boundaries to get absolutely stomped on in that situation.
Life is living among infinite shades of grey. Every situation has nuance that you might not have thought of.
I'm not using Linux in any enterprise capacity, but the compatibility improvements I've seen since the last time I tried out a distro for fun are immense.
So immense infact that I'm migrating all my home studio and gaming stuff over to Linux and making it my official daily driver via Nobara.
I'm honestly amazed by how well music production software and hardware works on Linux now. I'm so relieved because I thought this whole Windows enshittification thing was just another part of my life where I seemingly have no control over being made into a product and having all of my data sold constantly.
A recent migration to GrapheneOS and this new discovery of Linux's amazing capabilities for my use case are such a breath of fresh air. I now have the choice to reject the exploitative practices of these tech companies that have zero respect for people and that makes me happy.
The more we use and recommend Linux the more of a chance we get of first party support in the future!
Honestly with how oblivious most men are to the amount of work the average mother does, this is not a weird or stupid question. Insensitive, sure. Traditional gender roles still spill over into conversation, especially with older folks. The absolute least a father can do is aim to carry an equal share of the load of having children. The bitter reality is that this does not happen nearly as much as it should, hence comments like these.
Yeah, that's exactly what's happening. People seem to be misconstruing my comment as endorsement of gender stereotypes? I don't know.
The assumption that the father is just giving mom a break is part of a systemic issue, that by and large women are still expected to bear the bulk of the burden of childcare. Older generations are much more likely to ask that assumptive question as they still see it as the norm. Hell, some families in my own personal circle fit that stereotype like a glove, to the detriment of the mother's mental health.

This standard allows users on iOS and Android devices to be alerted if an unknown Bluetooth tracker is monitoring their location.
Bruh, I worked for laundry company in Ottawa. Many landlords were charging $4.50 CAD for a wash and $2.50 for a dry back in 2015. I shudder to think how high its gotten now.
Fucking shit ass garbage company. Boss was a smarmy cunt too. "Walked 10 miles up hill both ways to school" kind of prick.
Laundry is a basic service that should be easily affordable for everyone. Charging a premium for it is scummy.
This might not seem weird to many buy as a north american I had never encountered anything like it.
Shiso spice on rice.
It was a completely foreign flavor to me; like nothing I'd ever tasted before. Not a single thing in the north american diet is remotely close to what it tastes like. I saw there awestruck for a moment.
You lived in Japan but you seem to ignore the existence of the bosozoku when you say that people don't deck their cars (motorcycles too) out with ridiculous body kits?
My pick is Five Finger Death Punch and the obvious answer is Ivan Moody. The guy radiates that alpha-male wannabe energy and it definitely rings through all of the songs he has written and performed with this band. The guy is just a prick and a self-victimizing asshole....
Muse was once described to me as the Queen of the modern era. I struggled so hard not to laugh. Muse is alright. They sure as hell ain't even close to Queen vocally or musically.
Keene has struggled a lot with drugs over the years. He's notoriously difficult to work with. Its a shame because he's an incredible musician. I really hope he can get his shit together.
I did this for a while in anticipation of my 10,000 Days birthday. I took that day off work and did nothing but play games, chill on the deck, drink beer, smoked a bit of weed and spun Tool's "10,000 Days" album after smashing a pizza down my gullet for supper.

You can download PowerTab or TuxGuitar for free. You can also sail the high seas and get the GOAT, Guitar Pro 5. With those programs you can download the Guitar Pro/PowerTab versions of the songs on UG and have all the full featured playback that you want.

Naïveté. Its not devs that set the price. Publishers do not have your best interests in mind. They will always choose to make more money. They don't give a fuck about literally anything else.
The prices will never be lower. Purchasing no longer grants ownership. This is why piracy is justified in a lot of cases.
Support devs that respect the community. Steal from those that don't. Or even better, don't play games whose publishers treat the community like shit.
I am not an audio person, so do not have much idea about technical terms - but I hear the words "bass" and "treble" almost everywhere now, especially in the equalizer app that came with a new bluetooth earbuds that I bought (yes, I am still very much a wired-earbud guy, just dipping my toes in the wireless earbud ocean)....
Bass is the low pitched sound content of what you're listening to. Treble is the high pitched content. Literally if its something that sounds high pitched to you, that's treble. Anything in between the low pitched and high pitched content is called 'midrange'.
A bass drum goes "boom". A bass guitar goes "bump, bump, bump". Those all sound like low pitched descriptions, right?
A cymbal goes "crashhhhhhhhh" and a wind chime goes "twinkle, twinkle". Both high pitched sounds. When you adjust bass or treble, you're adjusting how loud the elements in those ranges of the audio spectrum are in the overall mix of the sounds you're hearing in your music/media.
If the "crashhhhhhhh" is too loud and hurts your ears, turn the treble down. Similarly if the "boom" is overwhelming, turn the bass down. Just adjust them to your tastes and that's all you need to know.
