Sounds like a one sided arrangement that's only good for you and not for the cohesion of the group. What's the actual problem with connecting to/socialising with people?

I get that it's annoying sometimes, and it's fine to have limits. But you're working in a place where other people are working, some people need socialising just like you need space. It's give and take. You're just asking for special treatment because you're introverted?

Sorry but the excuse that it's 'just work' is bullshit. You have responsibility, you're an adult, different people different needs, be accommodating to get accommodation.

Alsjemenou ,

Nobody is forcing anybody to do anything. And if you believe that people need to owe you something before you can engage with them, your obviously not being serious. Ignoring social interaction in a group is not a great way of going about life.

Especially not when you're able and your only excuse is that you don't want to. That's how a 5 year old navigates life.

Me and all members of my clan (9 players) in the top20 players in battlefield 1942 desert combat mod. We were from a stupid small village, lived and breathe that game.

And for cs:source i was number one scout player for a while. Always top 5.

Is there any significance to people using emojis that match their skin tone?

I'm asking because as a light-skinned male, I always use the standard Simpsons yellow. I don't really see other light-skinned people using an emoji that matches their skin tone, but often do see people of color use them. Maybe white people don't naturally realize a need to be explicit with emoji skin-tone or perhaps it's seen as...

It's incredible that this was viable in the first place. Of course these type of experimental surgeries are done on extremely sick people at the end stage of normal care. So, actually two months is nothing to scoff at. It means a successful operation. I hope autopsy will give insight. What this man did is incredibly brave and important for mankind. Hero in my books.

As someone who is aging. Late thirties. How can I keep my finger on the pulse of current trends, particularly in music?

As an example. I grew up in hip-hop but at a certain point I stopped listening to new people and realised recently that I’d slept on some bangers. Like Kendrick particularly, but even people like Juice WRLD and Xxxtentacion....

Does color change how hot a laser can get something?

For convenience sake let's say you have 2 identical lasers, one is blue and one is red. And you shine it on lead (so none of the light leaks through) until the lead doesn't heat up anymore. Would the temperature change at all between the different color lasers. It doesn't have to be red or blue, it could be microwave or x ray,...

Alsjemenou ,

The power needed to power the laser, if identical, is what determines the temperature here, not the color.

A thousand watt laser is going to make the lead melt while a 5 watt laser won't.

Another limiting factor is how fast the lead/target material can dissipate the heat. A 10kg block of lead is going to stay a lot cooler than a 5 gram piece of lead.

The colour of the laser has no influence on the final temperature, at all.

The photons are just transferring energy from a to b. And whether they can do it fast or slow doesn't really matter. Both blue and red photons are subject to the law of conservation of energy. The amount of energy you put in is the amount of energy you get out.

In reality there is probably a difference in how efficient a blue and red laser diode are, so there are losses. And if one is slower than the other, the target material is losing energy to the surrounding air. And that's why you'll get different temperatures.

In an ideal setting with exactly identical lasers, where the only difference is the colour, the end result is also exactly the same.

Im in the privileged position where I can say that I was educated to pronounce and write in British English. And while I'm not a native speaker, I'm confident that my knowledge of the English language surpasses most of native speakers in the US, if not 99%. My spell checker is biased for us English.

Now if you excuse me I have to go back to my flat, with my lorry having chips and candy floss in the boot. Do you even elevator bro?

Alsjemenou ,

So you want an appointment? Are you asking me on a date?

Alsjemenou ,

Me too. And I didn't even had zip-offs.

Alsjemenou ,

I would like to add to this. I spend at least 20 hours a week in forests, and have heard a lot of things. Never my name.

Do you even know what communism actually is? I mean do you know where it came from, and why?

If you're 17 and in America, there isn't a lot of hope that you have been told about this in a non-biased manner. Young people especially are susceptible to the ideology that they can make it in life through hard work and equal opportunities. You might even already have felt some success in this regard, was able to achieve a goal because you worked for it. And it all makes sense to you.

And you think, In some way or another, that communist are perverting this, maybe by giving away shit for nothing or worse want to take shit from you.

But that's not true.

Socialism wants you to fully get your complete value of your labour for you, instead of most of it going to a boss who didn't work. And communist want to make sure that the system doesn't allow for bosses to make decisions about the conditions workers live in.

Alsjemenou ,

Capitalism is the underlying ideology permeating society in all aspects. Don't pretend that there is a choice between capitalism and non-capitalism.

Alsjemenou ,

Right. So you think that when fascist are in power suddenly that's going to change? No. So if you're right, and you are, in general for most people, it's a lot easier to 'do something' without being under the constant threat of punishment.

It's not a false assumption to assume most people aren't going to risk anything. You're completely right. But it's actually another reason to make certain that the fascists aren't going to take over... See?

It doesn't make it easier to 'do something'.
